    Buildable B-17 Bombers

I agree on Freedom on his historic point of view about Germans focus on AA. After all, hundreds of thousands bombs on his head can finish by give some AA experience... ;)

    Buildable B-17 Bombers

Interesting Flyby. Amazing the speed at wich techo progress were made between '39 and 45...2 more years and this war could have been entirely different from the one who started in 1939... 4 more months in solid fighting for the Germans and we could talk about Berlin today instead of Hiroshima... Oooops i don't want to start a nuclear war words again..
  4. And that's the most important aspect of all our discussions!!!
  5. Very interesting point of view folks...once again. Things are rarely black or white. But where is the objectivity to analyse facts? Do we realize that most of our knowledges are based on what medias want us to believe? Do we realize that today big mediatics enterprises are the property of a little group of big corporations wich are controled by powerful politically involved shareholders? All this mean that if you're living in the States and you're a religious believer in CNN (who shows U.S. like the brave Luke Skywalker) or if you live elsewhere (let see just over the boarder in Canada) where believer in Radio-Canada (the national television who shows U.S. like the evil Darth Vader), if you're that kind of blind manipulated believer, just wake up, you're dreaming! THIS IS NOT REALITY! You got the net? So its easy to search for more objectives informations and pleeeeeeaaaze stop to believe "everything" they want you to believe ....Propagenda you know? There's no many things who are black or white...But killing unarmed civilians should never, never be an option whatever the circumstances...
  6. Ok interesting point of view folks, not a stupid matter of winner or loser just interesting points of view. The fact is that we can talk about that for many years and still find interesting things. Like you said Bio, the dissuasion factor (related to Russians) was one of the reason for the big drops on Japan. Ok we know that a cold war followed and finally no nuclear ww3 occurs. But do we remember that so many times the worst almost happen? Who really knows what happen then if Japan had accepted to sign the reddition? (Yes they were ready to do so, but they refused to let go their "Empire" system!). Who can say that nuclear stuff on Japan really gave us a break? Is there a possibility that Hiroshima and Nagazaki just let show to the Russians that Americans were a such nuclear treath to protect against? Only 5 years later (1949) Russians launched their first big mushroom. 1961 they tested the biggest nuclear bomb ever launch up today (4000 times the Hiroshima power). 1962 we've been to a phone call short to experiment ourselves the sequels of our choices. Is it possible that finally we are very lucky to be here discussing history facts on this forum? Otherwise maybe few of us were there to talk about the mistake we made when, unconsciously, we started the ww3 in 1945...

Maybe It's Time To Get My Driver's License

Ok i understand now why you were'nt very excited when i proposed to Derelicts Studios to buy that tank on e-bay!!!! Think about that again, no driver's license required to drive that beast! :P
  8. I agree with flyby, moral issue is the real way to look at it. But don't forget folks that wars are made by military but initiated by politicians. In modern society, politicians follow public opinions. In fact they use some strategy to influence public opinion in favor of their targets. In 1945 Americans people considered Japaneses like monsters ready to invade their country (all japaneses in USA were put in jail). People didnt know much about nuclear weapons effects (ask to those families who had fun watching army nuclear tests without protection). All they know was that bomb was a big one. So drop the bomb over the head of the basters! In 1962 Kennedy succeed (despite military opposition of his own government) to avoid a nuclear clash with soviets in Cuba. Public opinion was against the use of such a weapon. And today almost everybody on earth (there's extremists in every country) are against genocides. But they still happen...far from our eyes..far from cameras..
  9. You're right ZimmerDoo but about German Government decision i understand their point of view. But even if it's time for them to turn the page, after 60 years, we should never forget what happen then...Movies, books, museums, monuments and talks like we have help to keep it in our mind....

    Chilling...

....No comments...But concerning the Phoib's quote, sometimes we realize that life is precious and can be easily lost. Those who escaped from death can say a lot about that. Veterans soldiers from ww2 who appears on Superbowl pregame show last night are some of those...

    Help Me Plz

I had problems with BlitzkriegII when i've installed TFH. Problems disappear when i uninstaled TFH...Never tried to understand why this happen...
  12. Ey you guys (The one and usafirewarrior), like i said you're right, in those conditions (absolute surrender) they would have never surrender: too much pride to be treat like a rat and too much superstitious when they believe that a miracle will happen (like tidal wave who destroyed Chinese war boats and saved Japan some centuries ago). But if Eisenhower and his diplomatic crew would have accepted a victory, a simple victory rather than an absolute destruction of the japanese Empire, so many lives had been saved... Even if we know the atrocities made by Japanese during the war (their Unit 731 conducted various biological experiments using Chinese people) and before (Chinese massacres), Americans had the opportunity to save thousands of civilians lives...but they prefered glory of absolute power...
  13. If i follow your point of view guys, when, in a war situation, you got bigger massive destruction weapon than the ennemy, hurry up and blow up everything around (civilians included). I'm happy than they not follow that rule during cold war... The winner of a war is not always the one who "eleminate" ennemy first. It's not always "Blitzkrieg rules" who must prevail. Japanese knew that the war was lost and were ready to negociate compensation, indemnity and were ready to let go a big part of their politic autonomy...But Americans refused to negociate. Japan become trapped like a rat in a corner and ready to fight for ever. So this is true (in those conditions) that nuclear stuff save many american soldiers lifes but only cause politicians were too stupid to accept a great victory rather than an absolute victory!

Did We Ever Have That Blitz2 Tourny?

Just to let you know that the tournement idea (historic campaign concept) is not dead and still go on (at the Maus speed) But at least it's moving...

    Tank For Sale!

Ok Bio, let's start with a tank for studio ...A moving office, it's a begining! The advantage is that you don't have buseness tax to pay. Don't like neighbours? Ok officer, we're moving! Imagine all publicity generates by a buseness concept like that! Take note that the counterpart of the concept is the time it takes to drive your office at home at the end of the day!!!

    Tank For Sale!

What a deal it could be! Imagine that beast standing in front of Derelict Studios! And, Bio, it could be more comfortable than a dragon!!!!! ^_^
  18. Yamato..you're...well...you may look like a sort of P.S.(professional "spamer" ) but, in fact, you bring something interesting to that forum. We're not here to talk about weather but Blitzkrieg AND WW2, so the amazing bunch of information you provide is well appreciated... Good job PS! ;)

Did We Ever Have That Blitz2 Tourny?

I agree with your point doc and maybe a tournement can be played without russians campaign...But if you consider that nobody knows when the next release will be and the fact that some maps have to be done for the tournement (takes time like u know), i think the making must go on whatever the version (current or next). The biggest question for me is: interest. Let me know your interest about the beast!
  20. Genocide of 200,000 Belarussians by soviets between 1937-1941... Soviets have been invaded by germans in 1941... nazis atrocities against Jews... Israel persecution against palestinians... Alkaida murders... American atrocities against Japanese civilian population in 1945(Hiroshima/Nagazaki)... Japanese atrocities against Chinese (300,000 deaths)1937-38... Chinese atrocities against their own poeple (45,000,000 1949-1965 with help from soviets) No nation can point fingers to other nations without a look to themselves first... "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely" -Lord Acton, English historian
  21. High great level discussion folks! Those talks help us to keep alive a very important concept: hate generate hate. And, like you said, this is true everywhere and anytime. It's happen no matter the country. I agree with flyby about people who knew such a thing in Germany and did nothing. I know a priest who had an old collegue who went at one of those camp in 1946. He met people from small cities around it. Every time he asked if they know what's happen in those camps, people answered yes, of course, and when he asked AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE ABOUT THAT? He always got the same answer: "If we tried anything against them, we become camp prisoners ourselves". We all know about nazis stuff and hope we never forget, but do we remember about soviets and the massacre of Katyn (in russia) where they discovered a mass grave of 5000 polish officers in 1940 (from 25,000 war prisoners killed)? Polish army was the bigest army at the begining of ww2 (before russians and americans get involved) and Staline decide to destroy that power before they become too strong! And what's about jews massacre in Poland? Nazis involved? Sure, but they werent alone...Did you know that so many polish civilians start to kill their jews neighbor only to get their house and their money? And their grandson still living and those same houses today? Too many people from different country hated jews at the begining of the war (and even today)... Conclusion: No nation never got monopoly of hate...racism is everywhere under different colors, under different covers...

Did We Ever Have That Blitz2 Tourny?

I don't think mappers are going to stop their regular DS work just to do a tourney, some blitz fan off the team would be more likely to help. - Freedom Logical! <_<

Did We Ever Have That Blitz2 Tourny?

Will people have to replay maps? -Firestorm Surely cause during a war you can gain ground ...and lost it right after if opponents regroups (see what happen between british and germans in North Africa in 1942). The ww2 tournement could be 3 sets of 2 vs 2 (or 1vs1) and sometimes 3vs3. Here's an exemple: Player A british and player B american succeed against germans (player C and D) on D-Day beach, got Caen then Paris, go north and got Nijmegen and after Arhem..during that time russians (player E and F)succeed in Russia and fight back germans (players G and H) down to the north part of the germany were british(player A) and americans (player B) are already there..so allies and russians could time their march right to Berlin.... And during that time allies (player I and J) had hard time against Afrika Korps, but germans decide to go back in germany to protect their country (and avoid the lost of the tournement). The winner own every city or teritorry of the map. Look maybe complicated the way i try to explain it but it is very simple.

Did We Ever Have That Blitz2 Tourny?

No more than 10 or 12 players...details about the map is coming (talked to Phoib about that and wait for answer). I can organize that (if there's interest on it) but, like i said, i need help for some maps. The goal is to get a regular happening who can, if people want, become a tradition through BlitzII and Blitz III. I always had a passion for ww2 history, and now for Blitzkrieg II , even if i'm not a great player...yet ;)
