  1. And they left these in the demo because...?

It was rushed. Horribly rushed. ;)

Is that why the keyboard shortcut to select Nod during skirmish was useable?

In regard to the cameos I like how they are presented and the size is decent enough, but some of the angles they've used seem badly considered. Although for our mods I guess there are opportunities for some creative cropping whilst still allowing the unit/building to be recognised.

  2. From a 3Dsmax rendering point of view, you're better off with the Intel.

When properly configuered, 3dsmax uses multiprocessors for most parts of its rendering phase. as a result you'll get a bigger speed boost from a dual core then from a single, higher clocked CPU.

    intel it is then :)

  3. Sorry i should of said what i needed it for, bascially i need it for photoshop, illustrator, flash, 3dsmax. Overall to do my graphic design work on.

It doesn't matter if its big i just need something i can work away from home whilst im in the studio and in the libary at uni...im not a fan of the unis exclusive use of macs <_>

Anyways thanks for the advice the intel one does look alittle better now...

Also if anyone knows of any better laptops for the same price...let me know.

  4. hey guys...along time since I posted here!

anyways I need a new laptop ready for uni in september.

At the moment I'm torn between these two:

    HP DV8387EA:

    HP DV8372EA

I don't really understand which is better in terms of AMD vs Intel.

Hopefully someone who understands these issues better than me can help advise me :)

    Thanks alot!

  5. No. that's not knowing the British. ;)

They do not overreact like the Americans did/do.

You couldn't be more right, this best sums it up for me:

    What terror?

I've had BBC News 24 on all day in the background as I rang people and texted those I couldn't reach and checked LJ, and never once have I heard a single scream - or, come to that, a panicky voice. Maybe it was different at the actual scenes of the blasts, but even when they evacuated people from the Tube, the footage shows people walking out. Not running and yelling - walking.

While the American news networks scream about terrorism and Islam and revenge, our news networks are just making sure people know the extent of the damage and the disruption caused, and no-one's leaping to conclusions about Al-Qaeda or anything. I'm quite a way out of London at the mo, but according to Henry and my London friends, people are simply going about their daily business as well as they can. People in this country are not panicking and crying, but simply making sure everyone they know is alright and then getting on with their lives.

To my mind, no amount of flag-waving could indicate patriotism more clearly than this quiet, understated rebuff to the attempt to make us fear. I'm proud of my people.

    From a LJ.

  6. What? no.. i was talking purely in relation to threats from attacks from arab/muslim/middle east terrorists...anyways we don't have enough information yet.

I don't claim to know everything about the situtation but from what I understand its hard to compare the IRA to Al Queda, totally different forms of terrorism, with the IRA we always got a warning before a bomb went off and we always knew from this warning who we were up against, whereas Al Queda bam nothing, out of nowhere.

  7. Live 8 atomsphere...G8 sumit...day after London winning the Oylimpic bid almost such a perfect time for an attack its quite scary. With our state of mind turely distracted I think the last thing we were expecting was a terrorist attack...

Shame this is going to over shadow Live 8 when its recalled in history...

For along time I always thought that the threat of a terrorist attack on the UK was apart of the current Kingdom of Fear introduced by the Americans after 9/11 however if this is proved to be a terrorist attack, which it seems then this idea is very real still.

Really brings it home, crazy shit.
