Ha. Fancy being bored at work, and coming back to this page after all this time to find that the AR2 forums has activity from like...an hour ago. AR2 was pretty formative for me as a young modder/game designer and I still remember it fondly. I echo Mad Ivan's sentiment about making it a full indie game, but any kind of revival would be pretty cool. My time is super-limited these days (Ironically making an indie game successor to ATW, which if you remember the old version of was based in the setting of AR2), but if you needed any assistance, I'd be happy to help where able --- whether that would be design, balance, testing or just someone to bounce ideas off of.

I hear doo-wop is all the rage with the kids these days.

Awesome. My schedule is crazy busy, but it would be pretty cool if we could organize a time for a few of us to play a game, for nostalgia's sake.

I have 5.0 and could put it up somewhere, though I don't have a permanent server anymore on which to do so. I miss this mod, though I don't really play RTS games anymore. The setting and the units were just so unique.

Well, regardless, I appreciate the nomination :P I better make sure my future kids never find out I was a groupie though...it'll alter their whole perception of me

Honestly in that situation I would think the majority of British troops would stay by the Allied side and disregard the orders of the government. It seems far too unnatural for men who have been fighting alongside the Americans for however many years to have to suddenly take up arms against them in alliance with those bastards that have been killing their comrades in arms.

Oh, what the hell, I'll bite. I'm the one being pointed at...why, I don't remember

The key to enjoying this game would be to not take it seriously. So Red Alert 1 was serious. So what? That's not at all how Red Alert 3 has attempted to portray itself and if you come into it expecting it to be this epically gritty wargame it's not going to live up to your expectations. And yeah, starcraft 2 is going to be awesome but seeing how this is a topic about Red Alert 3 and SC2 probably isn't going to come out until my grandchildren are having grandchildren I don't see the relevance atm.

I ordered mine through the local bookstore but it will probably be about a week before I get it...can't wait. I haven't been this excited about a game in a while.

Screens from the first two levels after a massive two day working spree on ATW. Game's been cut down in size from 10 to 8 levels, at least at the moment. Three of the levels are completely done and playable, two are about 75% done and just require scripting, and level 6 is about 25% done. We've added an arrow to the bottom of the screen (not pictured) that shows you where you need to go on some of the more expansive levels.
