    Starcraft 2

Hey Dudes - I still go on the forums, just don't post a lot :P Was wondering if anyone had a SC2 beta key they'd be interested in letting me use? Yep, this is pretty much a selfish cry for help. Hope everyone is doing well still in the DS community.
  2. Just wondering what you guys thought were the best WW2 RTS games (or larger scale strategy games). I remember looking at one that looked really great years back but can't for the life of me remember its name :( So thought I'd turn to you guys and get your opinions. Before anyone does it, yes Blitz2 is a great WW2 RTS. Ok, I know!

Good World War Ii Rts/strategy Games?

Ruse needs to come out, it looks like something different for a change (not necessarily super realistic, but different and something I'd REALLY be interested in playing). I might give Theatre of War a shot. Men of War, I don't like the individual controlling aspect of it. It makes me feel like I'm super micro managing, and I found the demo ridiculous. War Leaders looks like a mish mash of HOI III and Company of Heroes or some generic WW2 RTS. I have a feeling it's going to not fulfill the grand strategy nor RTS shoes very well, but I hope I'm proven wrong! But yeah, Ruse, I hunger for that game now that I've looked into it some.

    Olympic Games

Argh, I can't figure out how to imbed the table from the Olympics Site. It seems the given html code is wrong. But suffice to say, US is up to 6 medals total, only 1 Gold so far, so France is beating us out for the Gold total right now. But still, USA USA USA!!

    Filibusters

I actually would since I might be in that situation in a year or so :P Would you be able to post it publicly in this thread? @ hawk - The United States of America is one country and one state. Just like Germany was when it was first created. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unification_of_Germany You're essentially proposing that we should not have a unified country? (gross oversimplification of what you said, admittedly) There are plenty of things that are ran well at the individual state level in this country, and I think health care could easily be administered on a state level (heck, it pretty much already is). But you need Federal Mandates (in my opinion) to ensure it is run properly. I think the Federal Government could provide the framework, and the state governments fill it in.

    Filibusters

Now hawk what happened is that the Democrats couldn't actually work together. And our elected president failed to "sack up" and actually just tell the Republicans to go fuck themselves and just pander to his party and get it passed. That's what SHOULD have happened. Hell, Bush didn't have a super majority and shit got passed like nobodies business. I'm more a democrat than republican but it seems that democrats can't just work together.

    My New Favorite Toy!

Not dead, just haven't been playing Blitz lately. I actually still read the forums on here, just nothing piques my interest to answer. Rattus, it's the real Walther. It's pretty comfy to hold with the extended base, but it kicks like a bitch. The other magazine is for back up, and I am just going to keep it with the flat base, so it takes up less pocket space. Rattus, it's super great quality, and all German stuff (from the markings). It just feels...right...

    My New Favorite Toy!

It's a Walther P99C QA (P99 Compact, Quick Action). Here's a link to the facebook album P99C What do you guys think? Also, this counts as my "face" picture for DS

I had to jump in here to say that Korona that shit you posted is awesome. That made me appreciate what rap COULD be. Unfortunately, it has become all about money, killing, and getting ass. ARRRGGHHHH....

    The Early Game Stalemate...

I'm necroing the shit out of this, just to remind everyone of how far Blitz has come. Also, I REALLY miss the Soviet artillery superpower, it was epic.

    Your Thoughts About This

Let's just take it all, fuck it. The right wing crazies already think Obama is trying to take over the world with Global Warming schemes or other crazy shit. I'm all for it, I like travelling, let's just take over the whole world, maybe it'll cut down on the number of wars we have to fight after we unify the world under one government.

So This Is How The British Government Is Spending It's Money

I'm going to chime in here... WHY DEAR GOD WHY!!!???? Also, to continue the off topic discussion... The British definitely are fucking up with their military spending. I don't understand why they think cutting back so much, WHILE they're fighting a war no less...
  19. Just thought I'd let all the guys on the forum I constantly lurk on know about this. Steam is running a promotion. Empire: TW still has its bugs but it's mainly stable now and for 25 bucks it's not a bad deal.

Anti Obama Rhetoric Reaches New Lows

Unfortunately, due to the methodology of the Electoral College system in the US atm (basically, "winner takes all," meaning that all the electoral representatives will go one way based upon the election day voting) it doesn't matter how spread out the votes are. I agree that we should all vote, and that a vote of protest is important. At least you're performing you're civic duty. Just saying that it doesn't matter as much as I personally wish it did. (I think that the electoral college should go proportionately votes cast so if enough people vote for other candidates it can hurt the two major candidates).

Anti Obama Rhetoric Reaches New Lows

Ahh apathetic voters and crazy rhetoric from those that can't think critically about the actual issues at hand. I'm more and more scared that our country is looking more and more like something with one part Fahrenheit 451 and another part A Brave New World. It still blows my mind that what, 35% or so of this country didn't vote for the President. (that's not considering local elections and what the turn out is for those). Maybe I just hold people to too high of standards. Or maybe our educational system is just broken because there's so many idiots running around.

Anti Obama Rhetoric Reaches New Lows

If you don't want the government interfering in your life follow these easy steps: 1) Move to bumfuck nowhere 2) Don't drive on paved roads or the highway or any other roads maintained with tax dollars, don't go to public (or most private now) schools or let your kids go, don't eat any corn or other crops subsidized so they're affordable, forget about wearing any shirts with US cotton that's been subsidized...I could go on but I'll stop there. 3) Make sure you live off the grid, make your own electricity, collect and filter your own water, perhaps (if you like cooking with it or heating with it) somehow use your own gas, maybe recycle methane. Otherwise you'd have the government to thank for keeping the prices affordable for those services too. 4) don't pay taxes. Also, enough with bitching about universal healthcare. Seriously. WHY IS IT SO BAD? If you don't like it, then don't use it. Nobody, anywhere, in any bill (that I know of), has mandated that you will HAVE to use government healthcare. If you don't like it then just don't use it. Stay home, get sick, fucking die because you don't have healthcare and can't go to a hospital and let it be. Or stick with your private insurance! I'm so tired of everyone complaining that private insurance can't compete if the government steps in. All the private insurance companies say government insurance will be terrible. If it is terrible, than what competition are they worried about? To use a bad analogy, if a honda civic and a porsche 911 cost the same amount of money, nobody would buy the civic. It's ridiculous that people are even mad that we're trying to provide healthcare for everyone. There are some people who legitimately can NOT get healthcare through a business. Nothing mandates that a business needs to provide healthcare, and with the economy tanking most are just scraping it, and those that aren't are hiring more and more part timers that don't get access to their healthcare programs. Can you say Wal-Mart? I'm all for overhauling our "safety net" that is in place, there are people that "game the system" but what about those that don't? You're never going to stop some people from taking advantage, but please don't lose sight of the hundreds of thousands (millions even?) that aren't. Here's something interesting: http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/.../en/index1.html This shows that spending more on healthcare doesn't always equate to much more in terms of life expectancy. Yes there's a "sweet spot" where you have to spend so much to get a decent life expectancy return, but after that it's a matter of a year or less in difference. Why are we spending so much and getting so little return? Regardless of whether you think "socialized medicine" is a good thing, there is an overabundance of myths and lies circulating about. Take, for example, France's system. They do NOT tell you what doctor to see. You can pick anyone, anywhere in the country. They pay for it, if you live in Niece, and for some reason wish to see a doctor in Paris, go for it, it'll be covered. The doctor gets paid, you don't have to worry about the expense, and yes you pay in your taxes for it. But I'd much rather pay in my taxes then see a bigger portion get taken out of my paycheck. Does anyone in this country even stop to look at their paycheck and what they're paying for insurance. If so they'd realize that the price their paying for insurance keeps going up while their paycheck remains the same. Meaning, when you want that raise, well that's too bad because insurance costs just went up. I know this is off the original topic but my blood is just boiling about this. I can't understand how people can be so naive as to think that they're always going to have health insurance even if they lose their job! Or how they think we'll (or they'll) pay for their hospital bills without insurance, or even (as many people are finding out the hard way) with insurance. There's a lot of stories of people with insurance that thought they were covered but weren't. ------back to the original topic----- I heard parts of Obama's speech, I read that article. How the hell can anyone call that indoctrination? The president is telling students to do their best, succeed at school, and to take some personal responsibility and that's a BAD thing now? That's indoctrination?! If that's considered indoctrination I hope to God he goes around idoctrinating this entire fucking country. Need I remind everyone where president Bush was on 9/11. Reading at a school....

    Cash For Clunkers

FYI, Most foreign cars in the US are put together in plants here in the US, employ more workers now than the "Big 3", and actually use more domestic products then US cars. 9/10 a Toyota is going to have more American parts in it than a Ford.

    Cash For Clunkers

Mehman, over the long run it probably evens out or even turns out that the more fuel efficient cars save resources. The bottom line is that the American public doesn't have the money or willpower to trade in their older inefficient cars for new cars. Which is kind of sad. Also, I have looked at the website for this, if you have an older car that does get good MPG, you're not eligible. And by good, I mean over 18 MPG... which I still view as poor. Good should be like 22mpg minimum.
