how about usa towed 155mm Howitzers. cheaper than a paladin. can be put into choppers and moved to trouble spots

or put behind my infantry bunkers to defend them from enemy artillery, or Bradleys that hit me with their TOW missiles that are outta range of everything i have defending the area

yea there always annoying, the same case with rocket bugies, i said: oh no need to worie ive got an impenertratable defence...(thats stationary) when i had about 10 roket bugies thrown at me. good idea with the towable artillary thing. it also sparked another idea in my head, what if you could BUILD (as a 5 star generals point) a huge artillary gun, it'd look awsum wouldn't it? maybe for iraq, but it would be similar to a super weapon on account of its uber long range, oh, what ever hapend to the 'range circles' that apeared around pill boxes ans such in RA2....they helped alot....but i guese no longer posible in SAGE.... but anyway the artillary cannon would see good approval from me: B)

1. Upgrade for Soldiers to deploy into a .50 caliber defensive position with sand bags. Like in Red alert 2 but better looking.

 

2. Stay by the United States Marine Corps. Dont give Rangers (and drugs) a chance!

 

3. Buildable B-2 (hopefully)

 

4. Buildable A-10s

 

5. Buildable and garrisonablle watch tower with search light that scans area and can spot stealthed units.

 

6. Buildable C-130 that can be filled with soldiers that you can send to be paradroped any where on the battlefield.

 

7. 14.Multiplayer Black Hawk down mission with one player who controls the terrorists and one who controls the U.S. (just if ya got the time for it ;) ).

Hate to destroy your thoughts sergeant pennywinkel but most off theese ideas have ended up as shreds on the drawing room floor (strange metaphor?) The only Idea That hasnt been put down is the guard tower idea (once again, vietnam reoborn did this) it looks preety easy to whip up a few of those, and it would add to the look of a base alot, weather its US, Iraq or NK!

(we also know they can do the spot light and stealth detection for it on account of the spot light on the old {and posibley new} airfield.

I have always wondered about the sort of laser marker coming from the avenger (in ZH) should be equipped by special forces units instead.

Someone somewhere should get an F-14D. Even after 30 years of service, it is still one of the fastest planes out there. In the beginning of the war in afghanistan. the closest carrier was 600(?) miles from the afghani border, the F-14 could go in, kill its target, and come back w/o refueling. The F-18 couldnt. The F-14 can engage 6 targets at once, (dont know how accurate) and all of the worlds fighters can only engage one at a time. so, in conclusion, "She 0wns"

Would we have to also try and escort the president to Andrews airforce base and get him on Airforce one? And what about Arnold, will he go terminator on Iraqs ass?

That could never happen, even in this alternate timeline Iraq could never get enough troops(or any) to invade the US past the US NAvy before being completly wiped out. It's like people saying China could invade us right now, they may have the manpower, but they do not have the means to project it or supply it when it's out side the country, hell, China's cutting back on the number of troops they have.

Maybe a couple of historical type of missions, ex. Invasion of france (D-Day landings) or a Battle of the buldge or stalingrad type missions (depends on point of view (like, in the retaliotory invasion of iraq, battle of baghdad could be saddamgrad))

 

and maybe there could be a small cutscene before a d-day type mission, with someone with a real generalesque voice saying "ike's" famous speech. with a couple of changes, to make it mod appropriate.

Some things that I think would be cool...

 

having a air tansport capable of carrying vehicles (artillery, humvees, avangers etc) something like the CH-47 Chinook or the V-22 Osprey.

 

I like the idea of the buildable gaurd towers and the specialised air units such as the RC-135 and Wild Weasel.

 

I'd also like to see a medic/corpsman infantry that would allow infantry to be healed slowly within a small radius.

 

 

Delta Force should be able to laser designate targets for airstrikes, while designating a DFO should be invisible/camoflaged. a laser guided missile could be more accurate against vehicles and buildings.

Make the marine attack range longer, you practically have to be right on top of the enemy to shoot. double the rate of fire for the humvee and the bradley.

buildable A-10, enough firepower to take out 4 med tanks (3 with missiles, 1 with the gun)isnt your close air support just a level 3 a-10 strike?

okay very little of whats been put forward here actually bears any semblance to reality in an actual combat unit. Let me point out a few things here.

 

The M2 Chryslers on top of the Abrahms are electric fire. Think a TC really wants his face sticking out when the shooting starts? Think again.

 

Infantry units dont build bunkers, they build fighting positions that blend in with the terrain. Not big pillboxes that scream "Drop artillery on me, please!"

 

All Infantry units are supplemented wirth M-203's for taking out dug in infantry. Rocket launchers / RPG's are are made with shaped charges that do little actual damage when engaging infantry units.

 

Want to supplement your infantry / Armor even further? Add Heavy mortar teams. These can be tracked or dug in, have a decent range, and do a horrific amt of damage to armor/Infantry/ etc.

 

Artillery support is a way of life...very few units go in that arent backed up by either artillery or airsupport.

 

Helicopters dont cruise in and sit in front of targets and pour large amounts of bullets into them, thats how they get shot down. Helo's make strafing runs or use terrain to hide in.

 

For what I'd like to see in the next realease, how about buildable specters that have realistic characteristics? I like the one in zero hour, but it's pretty much useless unless your shooting at buildings with it.

 

A-10's should be buildable and used as air support or defense.

 

something else you might consider about those fire teams you've been talking about...a lot of them also use M-240's instead of the lighter Saw's.

Yes, you are right, but, they can be fired both ways (hehe)

 

Buildable spectres, bad idea, mite unbalance it a bit and since its a gen power, whats the point?

 

They call the M-249 the SQUAD automatic weapon for a reason, if ammo is running low, the gunner can take a mag from another soldier, and put it in his gun.

And add machine guns to the planes! I added machine guns to my planes in like ten minutes. It's way easy to do.

 

And what about buildable SR-71 blackbirds? Use them for spying or attacking the enemy base. Or use them instead of the AWACS.

ok, 1, SR-71: Good idea

2. SR-71 doesnt have any weapons capabilities, its a born recon plane

3. The SR-71 predacessor, the A-12 did, but was scrapped

4. the SR-71 fleet was retired long ago since whats the point if you have spy satalites?

Increase the range and turret rotation rate of the avenger. I was attacked by air once, and the patriot, which was farther away from the plane, turned and fired a volley before the avenger which was closer, even turned the turret
