Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2007 O, I've seen ads... "Go eat at Amer's Steakhouse" or "join the brotherhood!" ;)
maskawaih 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2007 Go EA! (Expessialy for keeping ads out) They said that, "Ads would make it looks real". :P
Logan Hartke 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2007 Ads were in Tiberian Sun. Does anyone else remember the various fake places advertised when you hovered you mouse over certain billboards and buildings? Logan Hartke
Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2007 Yes, they were about staff members. Hence I laughed about Amer's Steakhouse :)
Logan Hartke 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2007 No, I know. I understood as much. I'm just saying that it's true to the franchise, a good thing. Logan Hartke
Neospecz 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 I just thought I'd ask you Phoib, I know this is very insignificant but pls bear with me. Was there a day/night cycle?
Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2007 No, there wasn't, simply because it would be too much on the CPU. They admit it's nice to have, but it's currently not possible.
Neospecz 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Not even a modable way to do it? I can't believe WarCraft3 was able to pull it off and not CnC3 :(
spyvspy 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 What's your level of optimism about getting an SDK out of EA, soon after the release? (as opposed to 2 years after release)
Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2007 Quite high, high enough to recommend C&C3 as modding platform to SSP.
Zero_Point 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Not even a modable way to do it? I can't believe WarCraft3 was able to pull it off and not CnC3 :( Remember, C&C 3 has ACTUAL shadows and not little grey blobs like WCIII.

War Front: Turning Point, while a fairly shitty game, does it. And that's actually pretty damn recent.

Zero_Point 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 War Front: Turning Point, while a fairly shitty game, does it. And that's actually pretty damn recent. Are day/night transitions really necessary though? I could care less considering there'd likely be no tactical advantage to fighting in either time period, and it'd just be useless eye-candy.
stumpster 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 That's the one with the Nazi Mechs and shit? Yup. @Zero_Point I don't see the point either, but just showing that it isn't just 'old games' that can do it.
Zero_Point 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2007 @Zero_Point I don't see the point either, but just showing that it isn't just 'old games' that can do it. Here's a theory: The whole thing about C&C 3 is that it's fast-paced. Mayhaps day-night transitions would give the unwanted illusion that the battles are lasting alot longer than they really are.
