So, What Car Do You Want To Own?

Recommended Posts

In response to What Do You Drive? is here the next question; your superrich uncle dies, and leaves you a gazillion $/Euro's, with the condition that your first purchase should be a car; eg something that you can drive on the highways without the police pulling you over.

My pick would be a Porsche 911 Turbo Manual, clocks in the US at $ 122,900.00 (and here in Holland a whopping EUR 191.600,00 :( )

With a Top Track Speed of 192.6 mph/310 km/h, Jeremy Clarkson remarked

…This becomes obvious when you look at the new Porsche 997 Turbo in the 911 series. You’ll note it’s the 997, which means it’s one newer and one better than the 996. But it isn’t one better at all. It’s millions better. If I’d made it, I’d have called it the Porsche Jesus Christ Almighty Would You Look At That Bastard Go…

…The upshot is 473bhp, which doesn’t sound like much. But if you put your foot down, I promise, all thoughts of a power shortage will be gone immediately. Because this car doesn’t accelerate. It teleports. Bang, and you’re in the next space and time continuum…

Dark blue please :hb:

That looks like a fun car, Logan ! :)

I'd go retro, like a Wiesman GT for example (its a new car, but retro style).

Or a real classical gem, like this Lancia Stratos:

In my school day´s my bus drove every day along one of this and I fall in love.

One day it was gone, that was one of my saddest day´s.

Second:

Wouldn´t say no to one of this:

But no money in sight for one of this. :(

I am going to start taking driving lesson´s. Hopefully in around 2 month´s I have my license.

Sorry, I figured it meant vehicles with wheels. But you have to admit, the night rod is beautiful...in a rough sort of way.

Mercedes-SLR.jpg

I saw one of these at GoodWood, had a ride in it and fell in love. Then came the top gear episode featuring it and It was even cooler.

I'd go first for an original AC Cobra, but failing that, this one would serve as a nice substitute.

Just a small addition to my first post. I would really like to have an "Zobel" (Sable):

zobel-02.jpg

IMO it look´s absolute cool!

(A shame that only one was produced. Only because of the dutch we have only the "Fennek" which IMO look´s like crap.)

In my school day´s my bus drove every day along one of this and I fall in love.

If you're over 6 feet tall or 200 pounds you'd fit better in a briefcase. I know from personal experience. (Ironically enough, a rich uncle)

My dream car would be something I wouldn't wreck in a week. I don't see how people who have only driven Hyundais would say that they could, in good faith, go out and buy a mondo-sized military surplus super-hummer, or how people used to four banger ricers could handle something like a Viper or Ford GT or a jet engined motorcycle. Ain't happening, at least not for long. I'm sure they'll have fun scraping you off the pavement.

My dream car is something I could hop in today and drive forever. V6 225hp, nothing outrageous, wide stable wheelbase, manual, convertable... designed to be something akin to its brand as the Mustang or Camero is to theirs. Only problem is that it never made it past the concept stage.

That is a beautiful American machine.
