Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 The Red Alert 3 SDK has just been released, and it's a big one! Coming with 130Mb of SDK, 600Mb of specialised World Builer, and 230 Mb of UI files, it brings modders everything they need to start their mod, and then some. Also promised are various Art packs, which will be released later. They posted a nice interview with Justin Moe, or Mastermind, here Get it while it's hot! IconOfEvi 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 Pah, worthless. They took that long to release an SDK? People have moved on. It wouldn't have really mattered if the game (and CNC3 too...) could be tinkered with like in the past. But now?...
Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2009 We can tinker with it like in the past, just like CnC3.

Bhones 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2009 :o Single-player missions? Would it work if it is not a mod? Not that I plan to make missions, but if you could, I'd bet someone would make some custom RA3 missions. Saaaaaaay, Neo?

As far as I understand, you can have single player missions, but you cannot add anything extra.

As far as I understand, you can have single player missions, but you cannot add anything extra. As I understand from this quote within the mastermind interview, "this makes it possible to use Worldbuilder with the Mod SDK, so you can pre-place assets from your mod onto a map, and have them show up in-game." you can, indeed, make single-player missions with custom assets. It is no longer a map with custom assets; it's a mod. I think in order for the map to work, you have to compile it with the SDK like a mod.
Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2009 We're both saying the same things :P Say you want a mission in Washington, and add the White House, then you'd have to compile it, bladiebla, and make it into a mod.
