what exactly is the spyware/virus? can your detector detect it? if you can, then delete it. or reset to dos and delete it.

i stumbled acros a hijacker some time ago, two runs of spybot and adawre in a row solved the problem. the one i found stuck inside system dll, so the anti-spy programms could only erase them before i log on. can't remember the name of this.

btw about:blank is a hijacker for adaware

Rememver if you're desperate to get a clean start you can format your entire c drive over again ^_^ and any others drives...just remember to archive things you want on a CD ;)

Although I don't like to do this...some things ya gotta do ;)

:P

I look at porn all the time and my comp isn't infested with hijackers and what not.

I have spy bot too, so that helps.

Tell your big brother to buy some videos if he's 18 or older. Then he won't have to use the comp. ^_^

(Wish I was old enough to buy some vids for myself, would be nice....I have a DVD player on my comp, hasn't seen any use yet save for once).

Just make sure you delete:

History

Cookies

Temporary on-line files

Temp. offline files

and then run ad-aware

I'm experienced.

*note: drop Norton, there are so many viruses out there that attack it specifically your better off without it.

Try McAfee (costs money, lots of money) AVG anti-virus (free! Cha-ching!) instead.

cheers for the infor, my Norton runs out subscription in the next couple of days :P :P
