The Actual Iraqi Faction Manual

Recommended Posts

Why people think that is beyond me. rolleyes.gif People who know the real capabilities of the world know that America and its allies do not monopolize the scene the way stupid sites like fas.org and globalsecurity.org do by not updating their stuff since the Cold War. China, Russia, Middle-Eastern nations, as well as countries that develop stuff for export like Brazil (back in the day) and South Africa for example are things to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, people never take things into consideration unless it's covered in the REALLY one-sided, anti-informative History Channel.
- Besides, it's 7 years from now. Expect to see some difference. Also, a lot of the developments according to the story continue in secret during the 90's and then full fledged in 2003. Also, if you follow lame sites like fas.org then you should know that Iraq was to be Russia's primary importer after 1990. Well, a country can technically buy up stuff and train with out importing the material right away. They could have done lots of stuff during the 90's even uder the embargo. Considering the corruption in certain areas of the UN then Iraq could have easily maneuvered through the embargo to make possible the things that are in the game.

Oh and I forgot to answer the rest of your question. I doubt that Patriots and Lasers would save a city from a suitcase bomb. Nukes would most likely be snuck in under the radar. In a crate, loaded on a tuck driving through downtown and then detonated by cellphone.
- Anyway on a side note I should mention that more damage is done during the campaign of terror. You know the insurgency taking place in Iraq right now, right? With all the carbombs and traps and guerilla fighting? Well imagine if that insurgency came to our shores... if they brought the war to our home. With the single purpose of creating panic and havoc to bring a Super power to its knees from the inside... Well the plan fails to do this completely and when Anthrax Beta is traced to an Iraqi mobile weapons factory that is where the war and the game really begin.

Well if you read the articles I wrote regarding Iraq I never mentioned Saddam. If Saddam is mentioned then I apollogize. It is possible PCteen could have added it or I just forgot. Anyway, I always refer to the Iraqi leader as merely the Iraqi Dictator and try never to mention Saddam. This avoids political issues while at the same time this offers me more freedom for a more compelling story. We as the community should merely assume that he is some dictator carrying out plans and wishes laid down years ago since the early 1990's. Thing is by 2012, it could be Saddam, it could be one of his sons, it could be somebody from the Republican Guard during a coup. Eitherway, for now, the Iraqi campaign ends with the Iraqi leadership turning up missing and assumed either dead, hiding, or absorbed into the new Global Liberation Army.
- The final piece of video I have planned is for the Iraqi Information Minister to don a mask and essentially tell the player to join the new the fight as the war isn't over. This is the genesis of the GLA.

USAfirewarrior, you measure human life and losses as if it were a game. There is more to war than numbers of people killed. If by a smaller number than Viet Kong killed in a war of atrition you consider to be a victory then that's a little sad. Most vets I work with from Vietnam hate it when people talk about their death tallies like that.

You Yanks are all so patriotic and for the homeland bullshit.
If you think about it What has been the ratio of Aussie Deaths in a major conflict to yank deaths?

Why was it untill the Japs bombed the Crap out of pearl Harbour that you dint join in WWII? The ANZACS have sustianed so many more KIA's that 17,000 looks like flyshit. When the Bombs went off in the sari niteclub did any yank, stop and think that australias most millitarized city is within F/A-18 Super Hornet range? Darwin has been utterly obliviated during WWII. And to think that two USAF Kitty Hawks were the reson that so many Japanese Zeros made it with out resistance makes me sick. yet you complian about 1000 US deaths? In an unnessacry war.... sick.gif

What I meant was that some people count wars like games and say we won because we killed that many more than they killed us when in reality there is not a defined winner or loser when so much destruction occurs. Anyway, it's off topic.

Long live the ANZACS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little Bird Down, don't forget the Americans were the main force that protected the ANZAC nations from Japan while our soldiers were in Europe.

The Iraqi army is gonna be sweet.

But I don't think the Iraqi's should use so much static defenses, you think they'd learn the lesson of static defenses vs. advanced air power in Desert Storm. Maybe their defenses could be like a nuke cannon, movable but can only shoot once deployed in to a static mode.

Also the U.S has already started to develop Artillery Guidance system using GPS, and the Depleted Uranium round is already in use by M1A2 Abrams as a 25mm fin stabilized SABOT round that can destroy any tank currently in exsitence and in develpment, but you probably guys already know that and this isn't True War.

Also Iraq seems overpowered, being able to deny enemy resources while gathering they own at an alarmingly high rate, being able to deny the US the use of their Air units (Even though most US air units and some missiles (AIM-65 Phoniex) are armed with Electronic-Counter-Counter Measures), I don't se how the excecute POW upgrade could demoralized the enemy, if any thing it would increase their will to fight out of vengence, unless your talking about public moral.

Other than these things the Iraqi's aren't going to be stomped on by the US war machine it's actually going to take a little work. Keep up the good work An Act of War team, I salute you.

Ah, you must be refering to the Radar Blinder Capability. Fear not, this general's power was not specifically developed to counter the American faction. Its uses are universal. However, like all other powers, it has a slow recharge rate and limited time frame. Its effectiveness is exagerated by its description, so in practice it won't be as powerful as one might think. The purpose of these powers is to be factor that is used stratigically at the right time to tip the scales. But, as veteran players know, inorder for these powers to be effective they need to be used skillfully in conjunction with other things.

Well they start out with the Al-Majnoon as one of the basic units that can be built with a Warfactory. The Al-Majnoon itself is an overall better artillery unit than its counterparts from the other factions including the Paladin and Inferno Cannon. However, it depends who is rushing them. If up against China then the Republican Guard with it's light RPG and the Rocket Guard should be able to protect the Al-Majnoons until some more basic vehicles such as the BTR and Assad Babl show up. Against America, the bigger threat would come from the air rather than from ground so build Rocket Guards, Tunguskas, and purchase Anti-Air add-ons for some of the structures with a SAM or two and they should have a harder time rushing you. biggrin.gif

Another thing, with all the damage upgrades for the Iraqis the Iraqis tanks sound like they'lll kill an Abrams in 1 hit. How strong is the are the tanks gonna be? I mean look at this:

Al Khafji-2 Composite Armor A second-generation improvement over Iraq’s older indigenously developed composite armors used during the Gulf War. The experimental nature of this technology limits its availability on the battlefield to commanders and elite units. It has no known weaknesses, resistant to all damage types. Increases armor protection by 50%.

Missile Guidance Upgrade: Purchased from the Oil Refinery, this upgrade vastly improves the accuracy of missiles shells through the integration of GPS smart guidance systems.

Advanced Fire Control: Improved fire control technology increases the firing range of the Assad Babl-2 and Akbar Assad tanks by 35%.

Shredder Round Capability: * Limited testing of this new tank round, monitored by Western intelligence sources, confirmed that the round is a dangerous new addition to Iraq’s arsenal. Improves the firepower of Assad Babl-2 and Akbar Assad tanks by 50%.

Explosive Reactive Armor: Developed at the Presidential Palace, Explosive Reactive Armor, or ERA, increases the armor protection of the Assad Babl, Akar Assad, Tunguska M-1, and the BTR-T by 25%.

Depleted Uranium Shells: Increases the hitting power of Assad Babl-2 and Akbar Assad tanks by 25%.

Is this suppose to give the Iraqis the US to laugh about and just generally squash like we did 2 Iraq in both Gulf wars? With all this the US only hope is 2 infentry rush.
Why not give the Iraqis nuke shells 2 get it over with faster? Edited by Delta Force

Keep in mind that things like the Khafji-2 armor are only for the Special Republican Guard general. In regards to being resistance to all forms of damage, what was meant was that instead of being only good against one type of damage it is good against most.
As for nuke shells, read up on the Iraqi Super Weapon.
The Iraqi faction in AAOW is meant to be the fighting equal of America, so definatly not just somethng to squish like in the Gulf Wars.People may be in for a nasty surprise or two....

Just saying, Iraq seems like more than America's equal with those kinds of upgrades. They should be able to sqush the US like a bug with that kind of firepower. Edited by Delta Force
