No is how it is at the current moment in the public release.

Yes would give players time to: A - move units out of the way, B - construct hasty defenses if it's a large enough map, and C - give them an opporitunity to scramble fighters to intercept.

I like that, it's a good idea IMO.

I think it would be cool to have the air raid siren, but only if you have radar.

Would it be possible to have, say, an invisable drone circulating the command center that sets off a local siren (that all can hear, y'know, but get's quieter as you move away from your base) if an airstrike is targeted over your base? That would be cool, cos then you'll definatly know the raid is heading for you in a more than 2 player game.

i Voted No. A lot of people already sell there buildings when they realize where the bombing run is going.. giving off a siren at the launch of the the bombing run would just give them that much more warning. kinda makes the bombing run useless.

Um, would be Ok prehaps, if the Bombers flew "above" radar and you didnt know exactly where the run was going. As it is right now all you have to do is look at the mini map and follow the line of direction the bombers are going. I have sent many a bombing run to a packed enemy base only to get there and all the buildings be sold dry.gif

The bombing run is supposed to get rid of buildings, so even if they sell them, it still serves it's purpose tongue.gif

Kinda takes the fun out of the bombing raid then, dont ya think? Instead of buildings blowing up they all land on grass. Then they still have half the money from selling the buildings. It just seems wrong to me.
The refineries of Ploesti didnt miraculously sink into the ground then reappear after that raid. I'd have no real problem with the idea of the global siren if the bombers flew "above" radar.

Maybe we could take away the ability to sell buildings...

That would help AI issues too, where the AI screws itself by selling the buildings it really needs tongue.gif

I voted yes - and I vote yes on not being able to sell buildings, too. It seems to suit the mod better somehow, when you think about it.

Good points of view! Realistics aspects are often the best! Add siren if you take away the ability to sell buidings, otherwise no!

I agree. Taking away things like selling buildings would greatly improve the mod. It would make you think before you build that fifth heavy factory. Are you really gonna need it?

That would be pretty cool actually. Factories, power plants, Radar, Airfields: once stuff like that is built, its a lot of work to tear stuff like that down. It would also make you pay attention to where you build and how much space you have.
Another idea might be to make it take a VERY long time to sell it. Longer than it would take a bomber to get from one side of the map to the other.
But i also think small buildings like the barracks should still be sell-able. After all, you can train men anywhere. Maybe the Command Center as well. Command often had to move at a moments notice. I have had to reteat before and rebuild close to an ally.

They wouldn't really build the fortified command center you see in Blitz2 if they were planning on abandoning it at a moment's notice. That's more suited to field bases, not concrete command bunkers.

What? Those command, concrete bunkers will still stay? I was hoping for different command centers...or atleast a remodel of it...
