[DK]PHIL 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2006 Sorry for the lack of updates, but one is better late than never. Blitzkrieg was meant to have been released this summer, as it is apparent from the previous update. As fate would have it Blitzkrieg was not released. Instead of giving a bunch of lame excuses I'll just post what we have been doing and start updating more frequently. I know you have heard it many times before, but we aren't far of from being done, which should be obvious from the screenshots, but whatever last bits are still missing has to be done. If it will take several months to do the remaining parts of Blitzkrieg, that is how long you will have to wait for the mod - I honestly don't think it will take that long though, but only time will tell. And I wish you all a Happy New Year! Regards, Philip

Rattuskid 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2006 Great to see you guys still working on it, although the bridge bit looks a lot like the layout of one of the D-day teasers.
raminator 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 wow, it looks amazing. How long has the Blitz mod been in development? blitz is in development since early 2001 :P
Mig Eater 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Yay updates! ^_^ I see you’re having latting problems with the new cliff pieces & the pavement, if you need any help with that rami can contact me on MSN.
[DK]PHIL 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2006 Well, the latting issue was sloppy work in FA2. The problems with the cliff and bridge pieces have, however, been taken care of.
Nox 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 The tiled road seems to stand out to much; it's hard to distinguish the units (especially infantry) on it.
Rattuskid 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 The tiled road seems to stand out to much; it's hard to distinguish the units (especially infantry) on it. Agreed, it's a little overwhelming. Can you drop the contrast on it a bit?
[DK]PHIL 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 (edited) I updated the road, is this a no or a go? Personally I think it turned out fairly well, and I agree the old texture was quite overwhelming. Now I also find it easier to see the detail on the units, infantry especially. *Update: And here's one to show how it stands in contrast with the terrain, and what is actual dirt. kristofvanheule 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 it kinda looks like dirt now... so, i'm afraid it's a no... sorry
BoB 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 Tbh i couldnt care too much, I'm just gald to hear that we can expect another release :)
Rattuskid 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 It looks MUCH better than before. Maybe a little more like dirt, but roads were dirty things in the 40s.
Mig Eater 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2006 I prefer the original road, the new one looks too much like mud. I would recommend tho that you resize the texture for the cobble road by say 50%, this should stop them from standing out so much & will also make it look more in-scale with the units etc.

[DK]PHIL 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2006 (edited) I've updated the roads again, this is a texture I did myself, it seemed darker when i did it. It's a little light as of now, but I guess it's all right, what do you think? Edited January 13, 2006 by [DK]PHIL
kristofvanheule 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2006 that's definately a go! that's amazing!
Major_Gilbear 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2006 Yeah, much better. Coupla things *really* stand out IMO though: > RA2 Oil Derrick... Nuff said. Ditto Warehouses. > Bridge repair huts. IMO, even the TS ones would look more appropriate. > Bins. They didn't have wheeled dumpsters for loading mechanically onto a rubbish truck back in the 40's... > Statues. There must be loads that you can donload and convert from free 3d modelling sites, and applying a suitable texture should be quite easy. I think the additional variety would be good, and fit in better too. > Churches/cathedrals. Same as above. > Paving still very dominant. could you lighten it perhaps? Not only would it look dominate visually less, but it would contrast better against the roads too. > Last but not least, the Command Bunkers no longer fit with anything else at all. Any chance you could redo them, even if it just along a similar design? I think your new stuff is all much, much better.
