henford 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2007 I have been waiting for the WWSkin tutorial for ages. I used to know how to do it back in the Generals days, but forgot over the years. A massive contribution to the community, well done!
Kaiser_Smeghead 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2007 It is awesome to see your tutorials back Killakanz! Your original Generals:ZH modeling tutorials are what I used to learn about how to model. :)
Accele 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2007 Using my crappy Challenger II texture I see. Any chance you can post the larger image of how the final unit looks in game? Even if I never get around to modding C&C3 it'd be nice for me to see some of my work in there once, even if it was from a few years ago.
Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2007 A, so you made it. Killa and I thought it was Godwin... My bad!
Accele 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2007 haha, you shitting me? I suppose I should be honored that any kind of artwork that I was even tangentially related to (let alone completely made) was confused with Godwin's work. Take a closer look, Godwin would have to suffer brain damage to make something on par with that texture. Anyway, request still stands, I'd like to see the full size screen of it in game, for nostalgia's sake. Whenever you get time, no rush.
Count von Phoib 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2007 I actually just found the texture and mailed it, didnt even take a close look to it :P Let me get some ingame shots...
killakanz 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2007 As you wish :) And thanks for the 'lend' btw. We thought it was Godwin's work, he thought it was HKH's... Please note though that the modeling and mapping of this tank was a bit rushed to get the tutorial written.
Accele 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2007 Thank you sir. Ah, the good old days. I remember when a fairly questionable texture looked pretty decent in Generals. Now the new fangled technology requires modders to have some actual skill. What a shame :P It is very cool seeing something of mine in C&C3, though. I wonder if I could find the time to make a small mod sometime... I guess I'd have to learn the coding again.
Hostile 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Seeing modeling has always been the bane of my existance I will now have to seriously sit down and follow this. Thanks for the hard work mate.
henford 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2007 Accele, solution is to cover your skin with a massive itled watermark, similar to the ones used by turbosquid et al.
