    Ea Vs Westwood And Cnc3

RA2 is way crazier than RA. It's like it was made by a hippie porn star with a degree.

Well look at the bright side; he can only die once. :P

    Ea Vs Westwood And Cnc3

That's true, but as corny as TD was, EA just made it worse.

    Well said. ;)

(Ignores Rattuskid) I'm not trying to start a bar fight here. I know that everybody likes painting China as the next Soviet Union so that the US can have a dragon to slay (no pun intended). But since China is the USA's biggest trading partner, no one needs sweat too hard about a fight breaking out any time soon. And numbers don't matter in a fight, or else you guys would have finished up in Iraq already. I guess it's best to lock this topic before Rattuskid delivers another comeback. I just don't get my kicks out of raping virgins or sucking E-dicks

    Ea Vs Westwood And Cnc3

Okay from what I understand, EA bought Westwood and took the series in a whole different direction. And so far my main beef is that EA made the series too cartoony. CNC Tiberium Dawn had a pleasantly high bearing on reality, but RA2 and CNC Generals were so over the top that I can barely stand it. My second beef is that CNC Generals is one of the most heavily modded games I have ever seen. And the sad part is that most of them are better that the retail version. The retail version is supposed to be at a level that is almost impossible to improve on. It is just pathetic to think that a 16 year old with a low end PC can do a better job than the guys with degrees at EA. I am a worried skeptic and the screenshots aren't helping. CNC3 had better be good, because it is the only shot at raising the Titanic. :(

    No Insensitive Political Views

I like talking about how I see the world and like hearing about how others see it. Not that we all can't be polite if we disagree on something, although I suppose we were all raised differently. And if were aren't pro or anti anything, there is quite literally nothing to talk about. Racism and all that stuff is wrong, but we can still give our opinion on issues. Like I can say I love my country and that would make me "pro Canadian". So that is technically not allowd on this forum. This is important so we need a line in the sand.

    Excommunication For Abortion

All I know is that if I was a child of a rape victim, I would want a shot at life, even if it's a long one. I think that if the mother is at risk, then it is her choice. But if not then let the baby be born and then let it decide if it wants to live or not. She doesn't even need to take care of it. Like in this case, I would give the baby to an adult relative who has been a parent.

Well if he starts tomorrow at 12:00 PM then he has exactly twelve hours to call me "noob" as much as he likes. And I'm not saying that an Abrams is indestructible. I'm saying that it is very hard to kill one completely, and it should be reflected in the gamelpay. Tanks aside I was just wondering how damaging missiles were to enemy armor because the way it is in Generals, Zero Hour and pretty much every other command and conquer game are not nearly damaging enough. I don't think that even the heaviest tank can take a direct hit from an armor piercing missile.

Okay look Rattuskid, let's be polite and civil now shall we? Calling someone a "noob" is one of those things that make you look bad, not me. And as for the Abrams tank getting hit and destroyed by the T-72, it sounds like a fairly disputable incident. The version I heard was that a AGM-114 Hellfire struck and heavily damaged it and a T-72 hit the same spot. Anyways, the eighty or so tanks that you are talking about were caused by IED attacks and RPG attacks, NOT by enemy armor. And as for Chinas military, don't be too quick to jump on the Red Army band wagon. Most of their army is still Veitnam era equiptment, particularly their Air force. Russia's main export is its military, meaning that they will sell it to anyone dumb enough to buy it even though more often than not, it has lost. But China does have the capability to modify Soviet technology for their use. Since the US has an all volonteer force , the training is the best in the world. Also China is trying to downsize their military, particularly the Army and Airforce. It's the old quality VS quantiy argumant. China would lose a war with the United States. But It merely wants to assert itself as a power in the Pacific (Tiawan anyone?). It has a growing economy but they are smart enough to follow the US example and not have a standing Army the way Russia did; it's too expensive!

So what would you call reliable? "I remember reading in a book?" doesn't seem reliable to me. If you can bring up another source saying with differing information, I'll take it into accout. As for your "image search", IED and rocket attacks have destroyed several Abrams tanks. Not 90. But I was saying that the Abrams tank has never been destroyed by another enemy tank, not including missile or IED attack. Also, Abrams tanks have fired on each other during friendly fire incidents and the round bounced off. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m1.htm http://www.answers.com/topic/m1-abrams What was the title of your book?

    Realism?

There is a difference between "disabled" and "destroyed". There have been cases of small arms fire penetrating the tank, but these were the results of prior damage and rushed maintenance. Tanks are disabled regularly, but are pulled off the battlefield for repair and reffitting. And no "we" (I'm a Canadian) haven't lost a single Abrams tank to another tank. And I have one of the few reliable sources of information on the internet to back me up. Source-> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abrams_tank See "Combat History". Btw, the T-72 earned the name "Jack-in-the-box" for the way the turret flew off when it exploded. Incidentally, "we" technically have taken A casualty from another tank; when an Abrams tank commander was standing near a T-72 when it was destroyed.

    Realism?

Well actually I did a little research and an Abrams tank was his by a 120mm round fired by a t-72 under 1000 yards and it just clanged off. To date the Abrams has never been destroyed by another enemy tank. While this would be stupid for a game, it still means that the Abrams would be the best tank. Also, one recorded incident involved an Abrams tanks ammo storage compartment cooking off completely, the crew survived with only high smoke inhalation. On the other hand a single hellfire killed one during a case of friendly fire. And a hellfire only carries a 8 kg warhead. Thx for the clarification on the bmp-1. its used as an IFV. It really isn't accurate to say that a modern conflict would involve repeatedly slugging your opponent and whoever has more health wins. When a single weapon can kill you, its about detecting your opponent. If you see him first, he's dead.

    Realism?

Yes that's true but while engine is rather limited, it certainly is more capable than what EA sold to us.
  15. CAS-343

    Realism?

Thats what I'm talking about. A single armor piercing missile can waste a tank. While in Generals it takes ten times that many. It just makes the game too far fetched for units to take that kind of beating. It gets even worse when trying to use rocket troops on dragon tanks or toxin tractors. I seriously shot twenty at a toxin tractor to kill it. The rate of fire for rocket troops is pretty funny as well. Watch what happens when you use laser-lock with an Elite missile defender. And fortunately, it is perfectly possible in Generals to alter the damage type of units in the ARMOR ini.
