While i was just browsing with no real aim thru the wikipedia i stumbed upon this article. Has anyone else seen or heard about this?

One damn big tank

Heres some pics. Just compare this monster to the tiger in the very botton pic!

scale model pictures

Pretty big huh?

This thing dwarfs even the super heavy Maus (Maus weighs about 200 tons, this P 1000 landkreuzer wheighs more than 2000 tons). Imagine if this thing would have really existed what kind of damage it would have made.

Imagine this to be added to Blitz 2 as a super costly general power or something.

The only thing it would have been a serious threat to would have been Germany's dwindling fuel reserves :P

Bad Idea, it would cost SO much that even if you had 1000 of the buildings that give you $500, you would still have to wait 5 years to buy one. Unless the team decided it would be helicopter droped in as a generals ablity that recharged every 2 seconds.

Thats not what I want in Blitz, no what I want to see is, more fucking people playing it!! Seriously, haven't had a game in 2 mounths.

Hey for no reason at all, I just got a CRAZY idea for a challenge map. Why not make a map lie neo's ruso-german thing, but instead of captureing train stations, players fight to control a series of factories and air feilds. Which of course means, that with out holding one of these factories or airfeilds, players ould only be able to build inf. The factories and air feilds would of course be indestructible.

Opps, I seem to be ranting off topic here.

So at least 2 ppl have seen it. I get the feeling that someone mentioned it before on this forum....

The only thing it would have been a serious threat to would have been Germany's dwindling fuel reserves

Did you know that Germany manufactured all its diesel syntethically from the late 1943 onwards. They produced it it about 12 plants around Geramany but when allies bombed those plants to hell germanys war machine was quite totally crippled with the last fuel sources destroyed.

I'll blame it on unfounded speculations and the fascination for myths of people, but the P1000 was NOT an assault tank.

It was a mobile coastal defense.

The idea was to make several turning platforms and have the vehicle moved between them on irrigular intervals, making it difficult for the Allies to destroy coastal defenses.

In that respect it is very similar to the request made by the German KriegsMarine for large sized, mobile canons, also know as the R-series., another project that got canned.

The idea was to get rid of the railway guns as they are too limited in their movement. Unlike railway vehicles, a tracked vehicle would be a lot more free to move where they needed to be. They were nothing then then further evolution of the KARL gerat 40 concept...

Yeah summer is on its way, its time for crazy speculation and lots of "information" about nazi UFOs, rocket planes and the V3 cannon.

Ooo... sweet

But I sorta miss 2004/5 when the BII forum was so lively with people asking for tank MGs every week or so...

And I forgot, perhaps it was killakan or Bio who'd storm in and start issuing warns or bans...
