It's not like we have bandwidth in Australia to do anything meaningful anyway. Our communications infrastructure is so rediculously bad that it isn't funny.

I'd like to note that if you can't get the 8800GT (supply is low and therefore overpriced, from what I hear), you may want to look towards the AMD HD3870 or HD3850. They offer about the same price\performance, if not more. Although they aren't as powerful as the 8800GT. Also, that's quite a weak CPU, and the 8800GT is quite a powerful GPU. I estimate that the Athlon 64 X2 4200+ is only about 10% faster than your first choice. Also, if it already comes with a HSF, don't bother buying an aftermarket one.

I know that we don't live in anarchy. That isn't the point, and is irrelevant because it was an analogy. An analogy is a form of logical reasoning whereby one part of an example is said to be similar to a part of a different example based on the fact that other parts of the 2 examples are known to be similar. Speaking of logic, I'm not sure I follow your argument. One of the UN's functions is to keep the peace. So, if a country is threatening peace, the UN certainly does act as a "higher authority". According to your logic that would entail a "one-world government". Since that's not actually the case right now, I'm not sure what you're trying to implicate.
-
Think of it like this: Let's say you live in an anarchic society. There is no higher law but yourself, so that means you are able to rob your neighbour without consequences. Does that mean that you should rob your neighbour? Or that there should not be a higher body to govern your actions?
-
Well, no, of course not. But the idea that not UN-approved = war crimes bad bad bad bad is stupid. No, not really. When it comes to military action, ideally the UN should be in control of that. The UN defines rules and regulations for a reason: to help keep world peace. What you're suggesting seems a bit analogous to believing that you can rob your neighbour, because you have your own interests and shouldn't need to obey state-approved laws.

PC, PS2, and 360. I think it might be cross platform compatible as well. !?

The world population is only 6.5 billion. A WoW subscription only costs $15/month, or $180/year (not including discounts). $211 trillion / $180 / 6.5 billion = 180 years for each person. In other words, you could pay for WoW subscriptions for everyone currently on the planet, for a total duration of about 2 lifetimes.

Haha, evidently not. Perhaps I should read the thread before posting. :P

The entire world GDP is less than that. It's about ~$50 trillion right now, so if the entire world put all of its efforts into paying that bill, it would take over 4 years to pay it off.

Graphics are awesome, but my graphics card is choking on it. I tried "very high" at 1024x768, 0xaa, 8xaf on my 8800GTS 320mb. Was not playable at all (~20fps).

Being able to run it doesn't mean much. Doom 3 runs on a decade old Voodoo 2, and Half-Life 2 runs on everything since the Radeon 7500. I'm guessing your X200 would be running everything at the lowest settings that those games allow. But yes, that laptop will be able to run Vista. It won't run well, but it'll run.

It's not exactly a powerhouse. If you're only using it for word processing and web surfing, it'll be fine. But don't expect to play full hi-def videos on it, or play any games less than 7 years old. My recommendation is to get a cheap, low-power laptop for all your mobile needs; and a more powerful gaming desktop if you need it.
