I voted for ATI because I own an ATI X800Pro 256mb.

Looking around at the various performance comparisons I'd say that the NVidia 6800 Ultra and the X800Pro are reasonably matched, but the ATI is much cheaper. The X800 XT is better than the Nvidia 6800 in many respects but at the moment almost impossible to get hold of.

I would also add though that support for the graphics adapters seems to lean towards Nvidia.
