I do find it fascinating that the same people who say, "Well Clinton didn't know that it was legit! It was just another terrorist threat! We get loads of them!" often turn right back around and fault Bush for not immediately acting on his information from the CIA, which was improperly assembled, poorly pieced together, missing crucial and obvious evidence to support it, and probably too late to enact sweeping reforms that would have made 9/11 an impossibility. Just for the sake of being fair, though. Let's keep it all in perspective, shall we? So you're saying I'm one of those people who are often hypocritical of what they say? Not at all. But it was something relevant to point out.

    Nintendo Revolution Controller

Wild antics involving clueless mothers frantically trying to change the channel with Revolution controllers that result in loud shouting matches with video-gaming children and teens will ensue.

    Oh No, It Can't Be!

I am ronery, so ronery... As opposed to countries with half a dozen "official" languages, five of which are used by 2% of the population. ;) You see billboards en Espanol in some parts of the country, you know. Es muy loco.

    Oh No, It Can't Be!

It's time to declare English as being the primary official language of the United States.

I do think that rule is stupid. And Ahnold has actually done a decent job. I just hope that *shudder* Barbara Boxer doesn't run and get elected instead. *shudders again*

Good thing they ain't, then. But yeah, this topic is inherently worthless because the topical post doesn't even make any sense. <_<

But you were hoping that someone would post that, weren't you? ;)

I agree with the Doc here. It's a day in history where a lot of people were killed for no good reason - left to its own devices and robbed of respect for the innocent dead, the human race would forget all about it a few years down the road.

We remember the attacks on the date of 9/11. It's kind of like how we remember the Pearl Harbor attacks on 12/7. It's an infamous day in history - why shouldn't we commemorate it?

It's all relative, isn't it? It's always relative. So what are you if you think that Jesus was the Son of God, but think the Bible's a load of crap?

Yes! We have smart people in the debate now! :D Rattuskid's got it right. The Catholic Church was atrocious in the Middle Ages, and they were Christian. Hitler was Christian. Pat Robinson is Christian. They're evil, aren't they? So much for the "Christian morals and values" argument, huh? That depends on if they read the Bible selectively, if they read it in its entirety and take it at face value, or if they really didn't even read it at all. Our friend Adolf read selectively - clearly, by his twisted and warped logic, if he could travel back to, say, 20 A.D., Jesus Christ of Nazareth would be on his hit list. Newsflash: Jesus was Jewish! What a delusional person Hitler must have been. Sadly, Hitler wasn't the only person to read the Bible this way. We also have the Evangelicals whose preferred bedtime reading is the trusty old Bible. I would go so far as to say that these people are greatly restricted by the morals and values that they impose upon themselves from the interpretation that they or their religious group as a whole has of the Bible's text (which, I might as well remind you, has been translated, edited, modified, and abridged many, many times). And, as all things tend to be, the Bible is interpreted differently by different people. Some Evangelicals might read the Bible as a calling to peace and unconditional love of all fellow beings. Some might read it as declaring their birthright to being superior to all and having a holy obligation to try to forcibly convert "heathens" to their views. *cough*Cortez*cough*Pizarro*cough* And don't forget our good buddies Pope Innocent III (it was III, wasn't it?) and Pope Urban II (pretty sure it was II, right?), who were the big popely proponents of the Crusades. Gee, thanks for screwing up our P.R. with the Middle East and Saharan Africa for the next millennium! Then, of course, come the "casual Christians", who might consider themselves religious or somehow Christian spiritually, but can't recite the Bible backwards from memory and really don't read too much into it. They might even take it with a grain of salt, knowing how many times it's been altered through the years, either accidentally or intentionally (yes, King James, I'm looking straight at you, you royal pain). Their religion isn't a major part of their life. They don't think about it a lot. It doesn't dominate their actions and their words most of the time. And, of course, there are plenty of non-Christians who are good people, as Rattuskid said. Mohandas Gandhi, Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, Pericles, Salah-al-Din, Sitting Bull, Chief Joseph, Ariel Sharon, Mahmoud Abbas... And Jesus.

Hmm, you talk as if that world trade center was the only one on this world. News flash, it wasnt. I'm not saying now that this is something small, but jesus christ, America went on a rampage and started going around the world trying to kill terrorists, but with that you just made more and more people join terrorist organizations. You cannot fight them the conventional way. I know that but this is America the strongest nation in the world and the fact is that wemight even be able to take over the world if Bush was smart enough and as Arnie said "Democrats are girly men" :P I'm sorry, what? Here in America people are supposed to speak english. With periods. And grammar. And spelling. I know that but this is America the strongest nation in the world. The fact is that we might even be able to take over the world if Bush was smart enough. As Arnie said "Democrats are girly men". :P There you happy. And nothing was spelled wrong, idiot. <_< And why would we want to take over the world?
