Well the entire topic is sort of moot, seeing as the US is part of NATO it would be fighting itself which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Engines push on air, not tarmac. Plane flies. Thread over.

Complete with illegal MP3. Actually, our in-game music was custom written for us, and our menu and credits tracks were written and performed by the band one of our beta testers is a member of, Effect 29. Thus there are no illegal MP3's in the mod. You know what happens to people who say "thus"? They die alone.

Despite the accuracy of your sentiment here you are forgetting the somewhat major argument against the game: it isn't fun.

Well hell, we've known that for the past 70 years!

Ahahaha. Bullshit. Atheism does indeed entail a position toward religion, but it has nothing to do with confusion or a lack of knowledge of another topic. Just as being a Christian doesn't make you ignorant of the beliefs of Jews or Buddhists or whoever, being an Aetheist does not make you "confused" about the beliefs of others. Thanks for the thinly veiled insult though, that was real nice.

Oh, do tell.

Detailed textures cannot currently be procedurally generated. That only works for creating non-tiling fractal patterns over an object or surface that only consists of a single material. I'm fairly certain that those buildings would have to be manually textured. You could, of course, recycle the elements from the textures, but having a great array buildings with the same windows and other such details would not look hardly any better than the flat plane you're replacing. Not to mention the additional memory usage of either storing those numerous textures, or, if you somehow figured out a way to do it, procedurally generating the textures. It just is not a viable to put effort into creating such an environment in the current generation when the same work and processing power is much better spent in making stuff the player is likely to see much closer and more often, such as particle effects and aircraft models. I suspect the next step on the terrain will be a displacement map instead of a normal map for the buildings, and then one further step after that you may get your so anxiously awaited polygonal 1- and 2-story buildings. Enjoy the wait.

First and foremost, you're saying that Dawkins said the world would be a better without religion. And then you say he overlooked the various atrocities committed by the mostly secular. This isn't the case at all - he said the world would be better without religion, not "religion is the worst thing ever and if there wasn't any everything would be sunshine, daisies, and candy". That is, of course, unless you think that we're better off continuing the old traditions of religious conflict. Yeah, come to think of it, the Crusades, the Israeli and Palestinian conflict, the Sunni and Shiite conflict, the variety of extremists using Islam as a justification for violence, the conflict between the Hutus and Tutsis, the Holocaust, and the variety of smaller religion-based conflicts are all really what make our world great. Oh, and the next time your're trying to make a point, I suggest you control your emotions a little bit and have the sense to at least look up some synonyms for 'retard', lest you go on spouting such gems as "THIS GUY IS A RETARD GOD HES SUCH A RETARDED RETARD SOUTH PARK MADE FUN OF HIM HA". And it's spelled "Asshole".

Next time you're making a flight sim, you go right on ahead and texture a thousand different types of boxes. I'm sure the effort you put into that will be well worth it when people fly down below 500 feet to do nothing but inspect the ground and make sure you actually wasted all of that time and money on boxes instead of just using a normal map. I know what you mean. You think they're excited, while actual pilots talk in subtle monotone voices. However, there is a reason they pay for voice actors and not voice monotoners or whatever the hell you would prefer - the chatter isn't just backgorund noise that's supposed to be realistic, it's dialogue that is telling the story and providing atmosphere. Think of it this way, which makes more of an impact: some guy shouting "Oh my God it's Strigon, we're fucked!" (or something like that), or just some random radio voice talking about incoming bandits on vector 235? Voices are the way they are for a reason. And yes, I downloaded the demo (it's been out for a considerable amount of time now, you're a bit late on your news), and yes, it's awesome.
