  1. You really have to admire the tact of the US administration with this... "We believe you'll use nuclear weapons in a hostile and reckless manner, so stop developing 'em or we'll f***ing glass your whole country!" Whether or not they're really saying that is irrellevant, as that's what it'll look like to Iran regardless of what they say.

    Pearl Habour

Apologies for quoting a reasonably old post, but what the hell do you base that on? Could you give us anything to support your insane assertion that Stalin would have invaded Europe had it not been for Hiroshima, beyond the fact that he was [indeed] a complete psychopath? To be honest, I find your defense of the use of Atomic weapons somewhat baffling. Yes, the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ended the war - there is no doubt in that - and yes many lives were saved in doing so. But for you to almost laud the decision is beyond me. Just because the decision was made, and it turned out to be the correct decision, does not mean it was the right decision. Furthermore, I am once again baffled by your belief that both the Rape on Nanking and the Japanese resolve for a fierce defense of their homeland somehow justifies the killing of Japanese civilians en masse by American forces. This may have been Total War, but the damage done to Tokyo alone via incindiary bombs ellicited over 100,000 civilian deaths and damage roughly equivalent to destroying 50% of New York! And this was only from a single city from a list of many more hit with high-explosive and incindiary weapons. Forgive me, but I fail to see the distinction between the evil of Japanese bloodlust in China, and the evil of American strategic-bloodlust in the use of Incindiary and Atomic weaponry, and yet you seem to support American actions on the whole. I think it was General LeMay(?) who said that, had the US lost the war, they [military commanders] would have all been tried as War Criminals.

    Whos Greater East Or West

Frankly, i'd much prefer a Despot or Absolute Monarch over the corrupt democracies present in many of the 'civilised' nations of the world. Better to have a Government that is relatively straight forward with ruling with an iron hand than pussy-footing around saying they're fair and just. In the long run, Democracy fails just as every other system has in the past, whether it be Communism or the non-constitutional Monarchy.

    Whos Greater East Or West

The fact that the west is winning the poll is definitely influenced by modern times. People, we're looking at the history of mankind, not this decade. The East wins by far, as the Middle East was the cradle of civilisation, and the West can hardly match that. Hell, the West stunted civlisation, giving us the Dark Ages, which set human societal and scientific development back decades! East FTW.

Pacific Front A Mod For Blitz 2

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the advanced Japanese Biological Weapons programs. Sure, they weren't willing to use them in reality, but then the Maus & M28 didn't exactly see service eather .

    Bomben Auf Coventry

Hey, I was just throwing an idea into the air, no need to get so defensive there. I simply surmised that, as the highly experimental '229 was included, why not round out the Jet-powered Luftwaffe...

    Bomben Auf Coventry

What about making an exceedingly expensive bomber-power upgrade from the Heinkel to the 'Arado 234 Blitz Bomber'? It was a late design, and showed untold improvement over previous bomber designs, and would fit right into the '262 and '229 family... plus it looks cool...

    United States Is Nearly Complete

I don't think a model that small would show up on the battlefield... :P

Does Blitz 2 Overight Other Mods?

Here's a tip, got get ModToaster off the ISOTX Website (i'm sure there's a link somewhere around here), that program will allow you to download, update, and run numerous great mods (including most from here at DS) without cluttering up your ZH Folder or running the risk of overwriting other mods and/or critical files...

    Official V2.0 Iraq Suggestions Thread

I just hope there will be little to no "fanatical suicide" weapons, as that's just not Iraq, that's the image imposed upon Iraq by the West...I mean, sure, it seems to be right, but Iraq should use a Professional-style Army. The Republican Guard don't play games... ...How about having a tiered Army. As in, base technology is aquired from reserve forces; mainly a stash of ancient WWII relics (ie. T-34/85), stretching up to an advanced Professional Republican Guard, using the best weapons ever developed/modified for use by Iraq... ...On another note, did anyone catch that movie of a Humvee with mounted TOW taking out an Iraqi T-72 from near point blank range...?

    V0.49 Bug Reporting

I find that the AI will constantly attack me with infantry until i sacrafice a group of light tanks, as in, send them into the enemy base to be destroyed. With this burst of experience, the AI will usually start pulling all stops and attack me with everything they've got...

    Best Fighter In Europe

Hmrph, my absolute favorite fighter isn't on the Poll at all, hell, it wasn't even finished! The good ol' Horton Ho-229 Interceptor. Sure, she had some major problemse early in development, but had she been finished, she would have been death incarnate for allied air crews... ...but as it is, the Supermarine Spitfire definitely deserves the crown. I mean, when you think WWII Aircraft, most likely the Spitfire comes to mind first. She was fast, she was nimble, and best of all, she was British...
  14. Y'know,I just realised something, this thread was started too early, the 60th Anniversary for the fall of the Third Reich is in a few days. While Hitler shot himself on the 30th of April 1945, Germany fought on, under the new Leadership of Grand Admiral Donitz... The Germans actually surrendered formally early on the Morning of the 8th of May, 1945. And even then, sporadic fighting from remnants of the Wehrmacht and SS continued to resist in pockets in East Prussia, trying to hold out until they could be evacuated by the Kriegsmarine...
