    Guys, I really do appreachate the excitement you all show after putting in the kinds of hours for getting them all done, but please, let's not forget the mappers. For the units would look like, well lonely tanks on a bland map, and they work just as hard at getting the most excellent playing maps done. And Stino's really picking up quickly additional skills in rigging, coding, and so forth. I do truly think you're all gonna love the changes, and surprises that await the Blitz 2 release. I know Bio's chomping at the bit to release this puppy, and we're working nightly to finish off a list of stuff. So again, thanks :D Topknot ;)

    Screenshots Galore!

    Hey guys, and any gals if you're out there, Really glad your happy with the stuff being done for 2.5. Bio's had to deal with my all night rants on changing this and that, but it's hard for me personally to just bondo up a unit like some of the tanks without the harsh reality that it needs a redoing from scratch, hense the extra time I've added to bio's release dates for changing units like the BMW Bike and almost most of the tanks got a good hammering as examples. He's dealt with me and I usually can convence him by getting the changes done overnight and handing him a completed new replacement ;) for example the shermans, which I am currently busting out tonight now have their true variations in that you get m4a1's m4a3(76) and firefly's that look, smell, and taste different from eachother, while sticking to blueprints to keep them as close to real world design as possible. I understand greatly your "needs" to have this and Bio and myself are working nightly to get this wrapped up. I do think you'll be plesently surprised at the changes in more ways than you think ;) *nudge* *nudge* *say no more*.. Topknot ;)

    How To Make A Tread Move

    Also to further simplifly this whole "tread" issue, here are some "rules" that should be followed: - Always design your Treads to run from Left to Right of your texture map - It's best to take the tread texture and have it reach both left and right side completely - You need to seperate the mesh faces that you want to texture as the treads, otherwise you'll find other parts of your model's uv's moving as well - They need to be named according to what side they are on: Hense Right side = TREADSR01 & Left Side = TREADSL01. This is also needed for like when the tracked vehicle pivot's to turn, then the treads counter rotate to eachother for a more real effect. - Make sure all your faces you're mapping FLOW in the same diretion, meaning that if you select all the faces in the uv edior and slide them left to right your viewport should show the textures all sliding in the same direction. Otherwise you'll get some faces going one was and others going opposite and no manner of V or U Persec's will fix it..;) - You can overlap your faces but I find giving them as much texture space from left to right in a row not overlapping makes for a much prettier look and feel in game. If you follow these guidelines then you'll have no problems getting them working. It is the easiest method to do it. Trust me I've done over 22 tanks now for Blitz 2 and I know it by heart now :D Here's an example of how you can save texture space for your main object and keep your treads all in one nice single texture: Then you can select any type of tread so you desire by simple moving up or down the strips..:D Topknot ;)
  4. OK Neo Step by step. - First make sure you got a file called GameData.ini, which you HAVE to put there yourself by extracting it from the INIZH.big. The file would then be located in C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour\Data\INI. - Second Open the GameData.ini file with like notepad and right off the bat do a Search for MAXCAMERA. - You should find it a bit down and it will have both MaxCameraHeight = & right below it MinCameraHeight =. Type in the values you want. - Save the INI file. - Boot up Zh and you'll know right away if you did it right when the openin Menu screen shows up because you'll see alot more of the battleship scene. That's all there is to it. You can't change the INI while ZH is running and see any changes, because it loads them fresh each time you start it up. So no exiting to the desktop to edit then jumping back in. Shut down ZH make the changes restart ZH to use them. Topknot ;)

  6. Well DrShrinker, Just edit your GameData.ini file and do a search for MaxCamera and use these setting if you like higher and greater camera range. MaxCameraHeight = 500 ; Higher Number mean Higher Pull Back MinCameraHeight = 100 ; Lower Numbers gets ya in close (Try 50 LOL ) Topknot :)

    Hey DasÜbrVerlierer, Tell me what you think...? Working on normalizing the sounds throughout the mod and trimming peaks and such, and heard your samples and really liked them. So tested your Easy 8 samples. THey peaked bad but was able to work them down into enjoyable responses. If Bio dude will approve them I'll see about using them ;) Topknot :) Easy8Samples.zip
  8. Thanks Guys, I'm glad you like it. I tried to be as close to the original Elona Gay as possible down to removing the turrets and having their locations marked on the skin such as the original one shown here: Enola Gay It's got full contrails from the engines,wingtips, etc and new quad props designed just for this Beasty. The best part is watching it's Shiney Sexy body slip along ready to drop a world of hurt on the baddies..;) Might try for a short vid demo just so you can see it in a bit of action if you wanted..?!
