    Voice Casting For Aaow

I really do prefer .zip, but .rar will be fine. We'll take any and all ages. (unless you sound young). And remember, if I like your voice, I'll work with you. I work with all sorts of people, so don't worry if you're not the best actor. We'll make it work. So, send away!

    Voice Casting For Aaow

Now that AAOW is really getting big, and we're getting a nice following, it's time to crack down on getting some vocals. Time to introduce myself: I'm kalikan. Wow, what a suprise. That's nothing like my pen name, now is it? Anywho, yeah. I'm the Vocal Supervisor for our mod here, so I'll be making most of the decisions as to who gets casted. I'll make my reccomendations, and then send them on to EvilViking. EvilViking earlier had posted lines for you to go by, but, sorry my friend, I'm gonna change the audition process just a bit. The audition process is going to be quick and painless. And simple. Here's some guidelines as to what I'm looking for when I listen to your auditions. Guidelines: -Great mic quality -When dealing with something of this magnitude, a crappy mic quality just won't cut it. I'm looking for a good, nice, low bg noise sound. - Great sound quality -The above is the foremost important, because without that, you can't have this. Sound quality is a combination of the microphone, the sound card, and the speaker's habits of recording. -Go to www.goldwave.com to download a great recording program. -All auditions must be sent in ZIPPED/RAR FOLDERS. -All sound files must be .mp3 -No puffs, pops, clicks, or other annoying background noises. -All auditions must be recorded in 44000hz stereo Sorry to be so picky, but most of those guidelines can be easily addressed by the mic, the recording program, and the way you hold your mic. I reccomend a hand held mic, with the wind breaking cover on the head. It's not necessary, but it helps. If you don't have one, you can try using a sock. With practice you won't ever need one to prevent the puffs and such from certain sounds, but it's good to practice with. The audition format I'm using isn't too hard, and really helps me to get an idea of your voice, it's quality, it's tendencies, etc. The process is a few steps, so bare with me. Each step needs to be in a seperate sound file. (In goldwave (the program I prefer you use) you need to highlight the area with the line that you want to send and go to file, and save selection as). Please complete each step BEFORE READING THE NEXT. It's all for a reason, and increases your chances of getting cast. Step 1: Read the following line as clearly as possible in your normal speaking voice. Try to enunciate as clearly as possible, making everything crisp. "Hello, my name is Jeff the Giraffe, and I like to eat bananas" Step 2: Read the following line as you normally speak to your friends. Be as natural, and laid back as possible. "Hello, my name is Helga the Hippo, and I hate sour dough bread" Step 3: Read the following line trying to combine the previous principles, trying to sound as natural as possible, but still reading crisply. Also try to sound as though this is really happening to you. Don't hold back, and don't be afraid to be loud. [fearfully] "Dear God... it's comming! [bravely, but still a little uneasily] Fire away! Don't let it hit the towns!" After completeing those steps, repeat them as necessary in any off the accents that you wish to audition for. You have more freedom with these, because you can make the voice with the accent gruff, natural, smooth, etc. However you wish to portray it, it's all up to you and the limits you have! > Arabic > Texan > Middle American/American > British > Latino Those are all that are required, but you may send any others you feel confident with too. Please send all auditions and any questions to kalikan[at]gmail.com ~kalikan Vocal Supervisor An Act of War Important Note from EvilViking: kalikan is not always available, so plase be sure to send copies of your auditions to this address as well: EvilViking@gmail.com Thank you! - EvilViking, Team Leader
