Because something that happened over 2000 years ago, and something that happened in living memory are the same thing. Of course, our bad.
-
And... My point was they produced a trailer making it look absolutely kick-ass, when in reality it's a big bag of shit.
-
This is the company that made Star Wars: Galaxies look like tremendous fun in a trailer. Trust no one.
-
Doesn't really look particularly 'doomish' tbh. RE on mars.
-
Oh come on, people. Thompson has been ranting about this for a age already for no noticable difference.
-
Oh no! Difference of opion shocker!

What, 'zombie #4' bursting out of 'utility cupboard #7' over and over and over, for hours on end? Wooo... spooky. Doom 3 was amazing for the first hour or two. After that, it was pretty abysmal. As for Far Cry, personally I found the best part of the game came in the middle. You've been fighting trigens in cramped (and fairly shit, to be fair) corridors and rooms for hours. Emerging into the fresh air, the entire base is under siege by fat boys, with a parked humvee on the other side. Run! That level was also far more enjoyable than the similar buggy level in HL2, as far as I'm concerned. Probably because it didn't stratch out for hours and hours for reasons unknown. Catacombs was fairly good as well, if only for the taunts from the suited and booted chem mercs. My main problem with Hl2 is that it's a one run ride. The fact that everything you do is so carefully orchastrated means there is no scope for imagination, and I've never seen fit to reply it. Whilst I could just redo parts I enjoyed, they are so over done that I don't see the point. Far cry at least offers some scope for freedom - you can scout out a base from a high point, make some sort of rough plan yourself and put it in motion whenever you want. That's why I prefer it to HL2 - the illusion of freedom you are granted.

"Gordon, we cannot stress how utterly important this task is. Vital, even. We, and the entire human race, would be doomed without it. Now, off you go, I have to stay here with all my other rebels whilst we do, you know, things." "The Freeman must go now. We must stay and play poker, as has been forseen." "Exactly. See you soon, I'm off to get captured." And, woopty doo, the physics is used for more than ragdolls. It's used for shit barrel puzzles. Or shit crate puzzles. Or endlessly smacking people on the head with toilet bowls which rapidly looses it's attraction the more you do it.

Just When You've Decided Your Life Sucks Most....

It'd be perhaps amusing if he could do on que. Yeah? I could shoot you and make your penis bleed. -
Not that that'll make any sense to a lot of you, I'd imagine.

How Many Users Does It Take To Change A Lightbulb?

Bloody hell that's old. -
So, if I've read this correctly, they Drain all of the blood out Replace it with ice water Put the kettle on for a couple of hours, have a smoke, play poker, whatever. Pump all the blood back in and, ta dah, it's alive again! Are they going to equip ambulances with mini fridges or something? Mr Frosty machines instead of life support?

As far as designing a map goes, one of the mappers here could probably provide better pointers than me, seeing as I haven't touched WB in months. As for adding some more detail, try and get some trees, sidewalks, cars etc to add a bit more variety to the towns. Like so: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/Bleetman/Shot3.jpg Others could probably muster better examples than that, mind. But you get the idea.

If it encourages Americans to read, it's fine by me. Bullet_shrapnel - fighting fire with fire for nearly 18 years.

I've seen worse. Believe me.
