C&c Generals 2 Incoming

Recommended Posts

It literally just hit the web a bit ago (Dec 10, 2011)

The next Command & Conquer is indeed coming

After some mysterious stuff hitting the web recently, people speculated something was up.

Now indeed, Alliances has been revealed just a bit ago on the Spike Videogame Awards Show

Teaser

(thanks CnCSaga)

I kinda understand the rationale for doing another Generals game instead of the Tiberium ones or Red Alert but the whole thing seems weird.

“Bioware Victory” for example, do they have any real connection with the people working in Edmonton or Austin? Or are they just trying to cash in on the Bioware name.

Also fuck that storyline sound stupid as shit. Is it too much to ask for a modernish game with a storyline that makes some semblance of sense. If the president and vice president are killed, the a bunch of Generals are not in the line of succession.

Also that trailer included footage from “Action Movie Essentials” which is lame.

So, once you've milked your top franchise dry and beaten it to death with a glowing green stick, you wait until all your fans have lost hope of a sequel before attempting one? And giving it to people who've never been involved in the franchise before?

Ingenious.

Seriously, it's been 10 years almost since Generals 1. A sequel now isn't just late. It's a desperate attempt to keep the old horse alive.

Bioware Victory is just EALA, so its pretty much who its been with since EA; which does have its ups and downs, CnC4 was pretty bad but CnC3 is the high point of the series for me; so it'll be interesting to see where this goes.

So they're essentially marketing a new Generals to a new audience? Looks to me like they just want to relive the 'glory' that the original Generals was in it's own time..
