Thanks, but we'll be making all new original maps for the next version. Bay of Pigs is not that great if you take out all of the tech buildings. It's also much too semetrical for the aesthetic quality that we want to achieve. In short, we believe that we can do a lot better than that. If you feel that you are a decent map maker we'd be thrilled if you could make us a nice naval map, as we are lacking in maps with wide access to water. Through you shouldn't feel limited by criteria. If you are so inclined, please follow any creative path you'd like. Above all, we recognize that modding is about enjoying the experience. However we can't guarantee that we'll use any maps that you create. Here are a few tips: 1) We have a zero tolerance policy regarding tiling errors, however we can fix them if they are minor. 2) Straight cliffs and ramps are strictly forbidden. 3) Maps must be detailed, beautiful, and as realistic as the engine can be.

Thanks for your interest in AR2. If making maps sounds like something that you'd enjoy, please feel free to contribute. Even if we don't use your map exactly as you submit it, we may alter it to better suit the mod or use it for inspiration.

Question: Did you use the wooden 'beach' tiles for where you started your beach or did you just use them as land? Because originally you coul build on urban tileset beach and I hope the space for building isn't too much smaller on this map.

ya i meant to put this map here just for using it, i really didnt expect it to make it into the mod. and whats weird is after using this mod for like 2-3 months or h/o time, i only JUST decided to read the storyline and realised why all of the pre-made maps are snow terrain.

EDIT: i couldnt find anything that would substitute for the coastal areas in snow terrain, and the reason it's so square looking is cuz i turned off auto-shore for that one map as it's meant to look very un-natural

http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.php?cat=...ice_fissure.yrm heres the link to a snow map i created, made for naval/hovering units, its wide and open with plenty of cash, fiddle around with it all u want, i tested it and it works perfectly.(mainly water with a few ambient effects) i made it as realistic as i could but it MAY need some touching up.

I'd say your map making skills have room for improvement, but thanks for submitting.

If you have it, check out some of the maps Westwood made for Tiberian Sun. They're masterfully done and I often use them for inspiration.

That is 100% agreeable. I just hope they make the CNC 3 maps the way they did to TS.

ok i gotta say i dont really like the TS/FS or the pre-made AR2 maps much, i prefer maps that are as equal as possible but i dont like cheap maps like redzones and im not just saying this cuz u rejected my map im just saying that we have different preferences for maps.

PS: one of the AR2 maps, cant remember what its name is but its the one with player1 in the top left and player2 in the bottom right, has a bunch of little bits of water and does'nt look realistic at all.i think its named "...canyon" or "canyon..."

Though it's very symmetrical, we will probably be keeping Iced Cocktail in some form or another just because it is a classic AR2 map and fun to play on.
