I am sure I don't know, or remember the information.

These forums are quite derelict of this time.

If you're still here pyro.

As for was there ever an AR1? Now correct me if Im wrong anywhere, but as far as I know, there was an AR1 - for Tiberian Sun. Also as far as I know, it had no relation to this story.

Now as for was there ever a prequel planned? Well yes and no. Not by us necessarily, but RedFox was working on AR3 for Generals. Generally you can see what the story was by in the manual:

For example, here was the beginning of everything:
QUOTE
Ca. -2800 - Beginning of Establishment on Atrigo.

-390 - Common use of Aura as source of energy began.
-250 - Underground network was first seen to accommodate miners.
-220 - Beginning of colonization of nearby planets and moons.
-194 - Aureon mines on Atrigo were estimated to deplete in 100 years.
-185 - Dezhori corporations secretly began stockpiling Aureon crystals.
-176 - Dezhori plan of mining on Zellka discovered by Nemoran spies.
-174 - Nemora built up military as a deterrence.
-174 - Nemoran corporations expanded Aureon mining to compete with Dezhori counterparts.
-169 - Nemoran yield of Aureon exceeded Dezhori numbers.
-167 - Dezhori Zellka miners attacked Nemoran mining compounds.
-167 - Dezhori armed forces, with new Aura-based weaponry are put on alert in view of workers' riots.
-167 - Widespread civil unrest on Zellka, Nemora army called into action.

At this point, both factions descend in what would have been the prequel, "AR1" if you will.

I assume 'AR1' would have been thus:
QUOTE
The war had begun.

-167 - Nemoran forces landed on Zellka to find heavy fire from Dezhori installations, heavy casualties incurred.
-167 - Nemoran mines and stockpiles on Zellka taken over and workers taken as prisoners.
-166 - Negotiations reached stalemate, Dezhor demanded share of Nemoran Aureon yield.
-165 - Outbreak of war on Atrigo as countless diplomatic talks failed.
-163 - A coalition of diplomats broke away from their respective nations in protest of war and form the Atrigan Council.
-161 - War spread system wide, off-world colonies engaged in inter-planetary warfare.
-159 - First signs of success in on-going negotiations as both sides succumbed to heavy casualties.
-159 - War died down, conditions of reparations finalised.
-159 - Peace treaty signed between Dezhor and Nemora. Nemora lost large part of Aureon stockpiles, Aura-based weapons illegalized.

As you can see, Nemesis and Genesis didn't exist yet. However, their somewhat grandparents, the Nemorans and the Dhezori did.

Now, after this, there was a time of peace. But if you look closely, the beginnings of the Genesis and Nemesis are apparent.
QUOTE
The Time of Peace.

-128 - Common market established.
-128 - Extensive planning and dialogue on "Project Genesis" began.
-126 - 3 outer-system worlds gained independence, fleets returned to Atrigo.
-125 - Governments started operating from the Atrigan Council.
-124 - Plans for the merger of the armies came under fire.
-124 - Governments plan to merge, a Council delegate in head of place.
-119 - The second round of "Genesis Army" talks called successful.
-117 - Off-planet armada reduced, planetary defense remained.
-116 - Partial reintroduction of Aura-based weaponry to the "Genesis Army" under place.
-116 - New "Genesis Army" still commanded by pro-Dezhori officers

116 Nemora army was forced to dissolve
-113 - "Project Genesis" almost complete, speculated 61% pro-Dezhori.
-113 - Last Atrigan-owned Aureon mines on Zellka and Centuro closed.
-111 - Nemora army commissioned by veterans stored underground.
-107 - Heightened tensions as estimated date of depletion neared.
-106 - Price of commercial Aureon rose dramatically, government stopped buying from colonial private corporations.
-99 - Official reports concluded and confirmed existance of Nemoran army.
-99 - Widespread disagreement within the military circle, public fears of a new conflict surfaced.
-98 - Atrigan Council Re-assessed merger of armies.
-97 - Restart of Genesis Army formation, strictly overlooked by Council. All space fleets now under the command of Genesis army.
-97 - Illegal Nemoran Army gradually dissolved into the Genesis Army.
-96 - Army divisions held equal numbers of Dezhoris and Nemorans.

-96 - The Genesis Army headed by the two military leaders.
-96 - Atrigan Council worked to remove any other remaining traces of the old separate states.

As can be seen, at this point, it somewhat resembles the problem in Lebanon (army integration, separatists, etc).

Now, we're moving towards the first War with the Scrin and the establishment of the Genesis as a faction, not just an army.

QUOTE
-94 - Suspicious alien fleets observed by colonies in the outer orbit.
-94 - Vinifera was first discovered on the planet.

-94 - Atrigan Council halted plans of army merger upon possible invasion.
-93 - All accessible sources of Aureon were exhausted and depleted.
-93 - Experimentation and exploitation of Vinifera introduced.
-92 - Gigantic snowstorms with acute drop of global temperature.
-92 - Alien ships completely decimated fleets of independent worlds.
-92 - Genesis Army immediately mobilized with help from Nemorans.
-91 - Genesis main armada suffered massive losses off outer perimeter.
-91 - After countless defeats, Atrigan fleets rendered almost non-existant.
-90 - Planetary defence put up futile battles as alien ships approached.
-90 - The First Invasion began in week 7, Ottober.

Generally, in this, you can further see the emergence of the Genesis army and lifestyle, as well as their peculiarities.

As can be seen, and will be seen, the Nemorans DID indeed help their Dhezori/Genesis bretheren, despite the hate between them.

QUOTE
-90 - Aliens assimilated Atrigans by mysterious methods.
-89 - Battle at the city of Gralkae, marked the end of the Genesis Army.
-89 - Climatic crisis worsen, famine killed peoples in different sectors.
-89 - Originally temperate regions now suffered from regular blizzards.
-89 - Atrigan Council dissolved.
-89 - Some Nemoran civilians expelled and moved underground.
-88 - Expansion of Nemoran subterranean complexes.

-88 - Experimental Plasmaspheric particle shield raised in desperation.
-88 - Aliens seen retreating, victory announced on week 2, Aoumes.
-87 - Genesis Authority came into government of Dezhor.
-87 - Guardian Cities and Dome Cities were built for chosen citizens.

-87 - Tropical regions suffered from famine and radical temperatures.

At this time, society was in close collapse, with famine, and social change further straining society's strands. With this, the Genesis Authority came, successor the the Genesis Army. Determined to avoid social collapse, they rebuilt cities, but not for everyone. For who they couldn't feed, they were expelled to their fate.

QUOTE
-85 - Genesis "Etheralization" experiment finalized
-85 - The First Core of Celeste, Eve-Iyra, installed in a secret location.

-84 - Vinifera started being used in various Nemesis settlements.
-80 - Nemesis completed construction of a self-sufficient underground city.
-76 - Nemesis cities expanded, mostly located in cold temperate regions.
-73 - Mutant lifeform first seen attacking surface compounds.
-70 - The mysterious explosion of The First Core, Eve-Iyra.
-69 - New First Core, Zarene, was reconstructed in a different location.
-65 - The Installation of the Second Core, Jyana.

-50 - Global count of living species was estimated to be below 500,000.

Now, at this point, we see the formation of the ousted citizenry, many using the old ways and rooms of the Nemoran illegal army. Indeed, (I may be wrong here, correct me if I am Godwin/Chrono/Tmapm/V7), much of Genesis society is still Dhezori and much of Nemesis is from the old Nemorans. Also at this point, the extremely important Cores Of Celeste are installed, critical to maintaining Geneesis's army of 'Etherialized' soliders.

Also at this point, while relations were going good with the Nemesis, it didn't last. The disagreements turned to friction.

Friction to violence.

QUOTE
-45 - Detection of expansion in Nemesis activities on ground level.
-44 - Trading and commerce between the two sides re-established.
-31 - The Installation of the Third and final Core, Enora.
-21 - A new Genesis army of "Shiners" was tested and displayed.

-19 - Nemesis expansion of Vinifera mining activities after new uses for the substance were discovered and perfected.
-11 - Nemesis bases began harvesting Vinifera in Genesis territories.

-9 - Skirmishes between Nemesis and Genesis became frequent.
-5 - Nemesis attacking drilling facilities resulted in Genesis revenge.
-3 - Third largest Nemesis underground city fallen in massive attack.
-3 - The First battle on ground between Genesis and Nemesis.
-3 - Space travel still an impossibility, but 2 multipurpose orbital platforms, Iris and Lumiére, were launched.
-1 - Nemesis forces prepared to invade Genesis next winter.
0 - Genesis surveillance detected alien crafts approaching Atrigo.
0 - Second Invasion began with red-charge destroying the Genesis Capital.

And now here we stand, with the Scrin beginning the Second Invasion of Atrigo.

Icon, you're right that AR1 was a Tiberian Sun mod and that it has no relations to AR2. The only thing that links AR1 and AR2 is its creator, Chronosfera.

Yes, but Nemesis and Genesis are completely separate entities. They aren't just Dhezor and Nemora with new names.

Which is why we changed the name of the mod from Allies Revenge 2 (which is totally meaningless) to just "AR2" (also completely meaningless, but at least people don't attempt to associate meaning to the words).

I thought I said that somewhere? But yes, just to reiterate, Nemorans and Dhezori didn't directly become Nemesis and Genesis.

Maybe you did. I can't be bothered to read your whole post. sleep.gif

However...

QUOTE

This is not 100% correct.. The illegal Nemoran army and separatists were annexed by the Genesis Army before the First Invasion. Genesis was formed when the leaders of the Genesis Army came into power after the Atrigan Council was dissolved. Those leaders were originally from both parties (Nemora and Dhezor).

However, it is true that the exiled were primarily Nemoran, due to cultural differences. They were considered lower class, and therefore not given equal protection after the First Invasion.
