Welcome folks, you are witnessing the return of the roundup I, your friendly host, used to do. Why now?

Because new stuff is out, silly. And general news summation too.

Starting with the old stuff
<!--sizeo:6--><span style="font-size:24pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><!--coloro:#00FF00- -><span style="color:#00FF00"><!--/coloro-->Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert crap<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--><!--sizec--></span> <!--/sizec-->

<a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/freecnc/" target="_blank">FreeCNC, it seems, is completely dead for now.</a> This is unfortunate, as of their last binary I used, it was functioning nicely for an alpha-alpha. However, that doesn't mean others are - <a href="http://sourceforge.net/projects/javafreecnc/" target="_blank">JavaFreeCNC</a> released a tarball of the newest build...in 2009. Probably to celebrate something. Either way, if you are a Linux user or nerd (oddly similar), download it for a go.

<a href="http://pupnik.de/freera.html" target="_blank">FreeRA also seems to have stopped dev about a year ago</a>. However, it is slightly more function that FreeCNC was.

<a href="http://www.ultraq.net.nz/blog/" target="_blank">UltraQ is still being a bum</a>, and hasn't updated his lovely project "Red Horizon" in over a year. Instead, he's talking about his lucid dreaming involving food.

<img src="http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/106cbanner_sm.gif" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<a href="http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/" target="_blank">Nyerguds is still</a>, as ever chugging away at unlocking the mysteries of Tiberian Dawn. Someone give this guy the CNC Lifetime Achievement Medal for his work, seriously. Internet brofist to you Nyerguds.

Of course, Nathancnc's TFD patch is still the best stuff around. Be sure to visit <a href="http://forums.commandandconquer.com/jforum/posts/list/345.page" target="_blank">this thread</a> on the CNC forums for general bigfixes. I just got my Zero Hour working so its good.

<!--sizeo:6--><span style="font-size:24pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><!--coloro:yellow- -><span style="color:yellow"><!--/coloro--> CNC RENEGADE <!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--><!--sizec--></span> <!--/sizec-->
<img src="http://images.ea.com/games/cncportal/Images/RenegadeX.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<a href="http://www.moddb.com/mods/renegade-x" target="_blank">The Renegade - X team however</a>, are not bums! Their main site is down for now, but behold the glory that is in their ModDB page! There is even an aircraft mini mod set up, as well as some beautiful terrain.

<img src="http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/9732/renxmoddingtools.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
Also, this is disturbingly cute

Now, the later stage.

<!--coloro:blue--><span style="color:blue"><!--/coloro--><!--sizeo:6--><span style="font-size:24pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->RED ALERT 2<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--><!--colorc--></span> <!--/colorc-->

Somehow, under my nose, <a href="http://rp2.strategy-x.com/" target="_blank">The ARES Patch, follow up child to</a> the old RockPatch and NPatch. Why should you get this, or think of using it in your mod? Well, consider this. Remember the old RockPatch and NPatch? Eventually, both got into a state where they were limited because implementing a code change/upgrade broke the whole EXE. ARES is different. It is a code injector. What does this mean? Simple really - no need to modify your RA2YR.exe anymore. Now, if you really need, you can write the code and inject it!

<a href="http://rp2.strategy-x.com/" target="_blank">Track ARES here again, and suggest a code or something if you got an idea</a>

And in a case of vertical integration / marketing, ARES comes prepackaged and ready to work with a new mod manager for YR called <a href="http://marshall.strategy-x.com/LaunchBase/index.php" target="_blank">Launch Base</a>! Basically, its a mod organizer, and will automatically apply updates and stuff as needed.

<img src="http://marshall.strategy-x.com/LaunchBase/lbimage1.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />

<a href="http://forums.revora.net/index.php?showforum=279#" target="_blank">Robot Storm</a> hasn't updated the main site in a while, but they are working on polishing the next release. Trust me, I know.

<a href="http://mo.cncguild.net/" target="_blank">Speeder of Mental Omega fame</a> has posted a new video showcasing the Risen Railgun

<!--id1--><div><object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/R6Mt1cA4iaw&"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/R6Mt1cA4iaw&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /></embed></object></div><!--id2-->

Also, he is making a call for a mapper or two to help him out with the campaigns and other maps. Drop him a line if interested!

<a href="http://www.moddb.com/mods/cc-shockwave/news/shockwave-096-july-update" target="_blank">CNC Shockwave</a> has an update from...last year.

<img src="http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/7/6301/renderchinaoverlordnuke.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Hit them up for their nonetheless awesome mod. Who knows, maybe they'll update tomorrow?

<a href="http://www.cold-war-crisis.de/wbboard/portal.php" target="_blank">Cold War Crisis mod</a> was holding a GUESS THAT TANK competition, and they have now unveiled the MBT of the Euro Alliance

<img src="http://www.cold-war-crisis.de/gallery/ingame/usa/leo2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Unsurprising...but effective. Also, if you type CWC in Google, for God's sake, do not click on the suggestion of 'Sonichu'. Please

I would love to show you, but the pics are too big and beautiful. Hydra release is closer than ever.

* We're working on our mods too. Honest! In fact, you should check out the <a href="http://www.derelictstudios.net/blitz/index.php?mod=blitz2" target="_blank">Blitzkrieg II</a> page for more juicy panzers. Even better, we have the #1 Google rank

* Terminator - The Sarah Conner Chronicles was better than I thought. Great soundtrack too

* Remember when I said don't follow the link to Sonichu? Well, expanding on that, don't look at Christian Weston Chandler as well. For the love of God and all that is good, just don't.

* I know you've been waiting for a fresh, hot copy of the Vulcano Telegraph. Enough to get you...wet? With sweat of course. Well you might see one soon!

* Deus Ex - Human Revolution is lookin pretty kick...butt. Seriously, <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRryhHGa51A" target="_blank">take a look</a> at some of <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkXCE8CkNZU&fmt=18" target="_blank">the material</a> that has been <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0af2wvSdwwI" target="_blank">released so far</a> (DAT ASS warning at ~0:56).

* Phoib loves dots, he really does.

So the head picture, that'll be Phoib in the middle, Mehman on the left and Korona on the right?

Also a whole lot of old news here. If you don't get faster on the ball, the Dark Lord will no longer find you of use...

Another dot for Phoib ---> .

Its the newest thats out there sad.gif. Sadly, CNC community is dying since the CNC4 release. Thats not my fault.

But I DO possibly have a surprise for next time.

Are there any major modding groups around anymore? Like you said, it seems like the CNC community is dying off :(
