Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! While it may appear we aren't producing news at the moment, I assure you we at Derelict Studios are busy (pun unintentional). In fact, you could say...very busy. This is remarkable as many of the staff are busy with university as well. Trust me, I don't like the lack of news either - I'm the PR guy after all. In this current job climate, this normally would have meant I'm getting laid off! Though one could successfully argue that the CNC community is slowing down due to a variety of factors (one of them starting with an 'E'...), these updates are here to show you otherwise!
You all probably think I'm Baghdad Bob at this point...
A PATH BEYOND 2.0, codename GAMMA is RELEASED!
CNC modding is dead? Well feast your eyes on this Renegade beauty! (Mind you, this footage is months old, the current finish is even better)
Yes, after months and months in development (years if you count from v1), with constant activity nearly every week, version 2 has finally hit. No more 1 point whatever. With this update comes a whole slew of updates! Totally reworked damage! New maps! More flavor! New UI! New features! This mod, nay, game could be exactly what you're looking for! And don't think they're done, cause they're not.
Mind you, this is official release. There are tons more projects being done by various fans which can be seen on the forum. In either case, GET GAMMA TODAY!

ARES, the simplified and superior Red Alert 2 add on that opens up the RA2 engine like never before, is still chugging along.
v0.2 is nearly out - final testing is being done on features. HOWEVER, and I note a big however, after 0.2, they may not continue. Why? to put it simply, there hasn't been enough 'community support/enthusiasm'. They are perfectly willing to continue on it after 0.2, or even open up a public trunk to get code vetted/released faster, but they need more SUPPORT! So show them some love and drop by, and report any bugs you encounter, anything. Hell, just drop by to say you love the work they're doing and wish for more. Anything.
That said, you can also request features to be coded on - however, do bear in mind that it should be something modders in general can enjoy, not some small issue that only really makes your project work. However, the folks have been shown to be super accomodating, so drop a line!
Maybe some media is needed to convince you? Control the media, control the mind as a certain someone said. The Prism Forwarding logic indeed seems to be working without a hitch now. Observe the rainbow!:
Haha, those bastards will never get in to a base protected by SuperForwardLogic!. That is...unless they have Bubba's Kustom Paradrops:
Ah shit. Yuri, he don't play by no rules. No siree - Kustom Paradrops aren't enough for him. After some help from mysterious induviduals, Yuri got even one more hypothetical ace up his sleeve!
Of course, Yuri being the bastard he is, time travels a lot. Once, he popped into some alternate reality where Japan went nuts. Looking at the report, he saw something...odd.
Different text? Heretical! All commanders use Impact font, in DayGlo Orange! Anything less would be a travesty!
Bear in mind, that this is all logic, and media showing what is capable. Its upto induvidual modders to turn that logic into something they want to use.

The loved RA2 mod Mental Omega is still going along strong! Some recent updates include sneak peaks at the campaigns. In this case, what is Scorpion Cell doing? Who are they? Why are they here?
Why are they in what looks like Libya? Maybe the civil war going on there was sparked by the mysterious Scorpion Cell?
In some video footage, we can see the game is very balanced so far. Also shows off Ares's dynamism - this is three battles with the same units everytime.
Also, the AI is getting a massive boost. One wonders at this rate if Speeder's goal is to make the computer unbeatable.
Thats all for this update, at this time anyways. CNC modding is certainly not dead...not yet at any case. And WE are not dead in any way, shape, or form. And maybe a revival of sorts is in the works? Rumors abound of the new CNC project by Victory Games...what if I told you a little bird told me certain ummm....details of the new game? What if said little bird also told me certain details of Derelict Studios's hidden projects. And suppose the birdie wanted me to tell YOU? Would I be a liar? As a certain someone said - "Time will tell. Sooner or later, time will tell."
