I'm an ATI fan, in my opinion their cards run slightly more efficiently. Oh, and yes, I have owned a Nvidia card before, I'm not just talking shit. I'm comparing a Nvidia Geforce 4 MX 420 to an ATI Radeon 9200 SE, sadly the ATIR9200SE runs better.

Ok I am an ATI fanboy so ATI all the way I just spent $800 on a new Card lol an ATI X800XT PE PCI Express verson. Any way for games that use Direct X ATI for the most part rules but for open GL nvidia rules if any of you have seen the tests n doom 3 then you will see that ATI has problems with openGL. But that is going to change ATI is rewriting there drivers for OPENGL so they could end up being faster the there rivels

Stupid question from one who knows just about zilch about computers:

Why are video cards so expensive? What purposes do they serve, other than running video games? I mean look at console systems, you get the whole system for around 300 bucks (when they're first released, i'm betting 300 will be price of the nextgen consoles too) but when it comes to computers, several hundred just for a part of the whole system? Give me a break!

I really dislike console nuts....for example I had people saying the XBox wasn't a computer when it was proved already that people have put Linux and Windows on them ....well asd my brother said, "Stupid people are controllable people"....how right he is.

Anyways nVidia also makes other good products you know. I particaularily like their motherboards.

I like NVidias graphics cards. I've had no probs with my 5600FX or the Riva TNT 2 on my families computer. Mind I've never tried an ATI so I can't compare

although most consoles dont come wit memory(ie hard drive) so that knocks the price down a bit but the rest i cant work out <_<
